For the second year, SDS earns recognition for its gunshot detection solutions

ROWLEY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Shooter Detection Systems (SDS), an Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM) company and the leading provider of gunshot detection solutions, is pleased to announce that its Indoor Gunshot Detection System is a winner of the Campus Security Today 2024 Secure Campus Awards.

The company’s Indoor Gunshot Detection System won at the Platinum level under the Fire/Life Safety category. This marks the second year in a row that Shooter Detection Systems has been recognized with an award from the program.

"We are honored to receive this prestigious award, which underscores our commitment to developing life-saving technologies,” said Rich Onofrio, Chief Technology Officer for Shooter Detection Systems. “Our sensors are an invaluable tool to protect building occupants in educational settings and corporate campuses by promptly notifying first responders in the event of gun violence, significantly enhancing safety and response times."

Shooter Detection Systems’ Indoor Gunshot Detection System offers a fast, accurate and cost-effective tool to notify building occupants and first responders that gun violence is happening onsite. SDS’s indoor gunshot detection sensors use dual sensor technology to identify both the acoustic sound of a gunshot and the infrared flash detection, or heat signature, emitted from the discharge of a firearm.

When shots are detected, trained safety agents contact 911 call centers and provide real-time data via ResponderLink emergency response services. This information includes the building’s address and where shots have been detected within the building to help improve situational awareness for responding officers.

The annual Secure Campus Awards continue to recognize leading and innovative gunshot detection solutions that help to secure business and educational campuses.
