ATI (NYSE: ATI) has commissioned its state-of-the-art Additive Manufacturing Products facility in Margate, Florida, marking a significant advancement in metal additive manufacturing capabilities. The 132,000-square-foot facility features the industry's largest format printing capabilities, able to produce parts up to 1.5 meters tall in previously impossible geometries.

The vertically integrated facility combines design, printing, heat treating, machining, and inspection capabilities under one roof. It has already secured its first contract from Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. (BPMI) for the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. The facility implements ISO 9001 and AS9100D quality standards and includes laser powder bed fusion printing technology.

CEO Kimberly A. Fields emphasized ATI's metallurgical leadership in developing specialized alloy powder materials for additive manufacturing, combining materials science and forging expertise to deliver high-quality production at scale for aerospace, defense, and space markets.

World-class facility includes industry's largest format, most advanced capabilities

MARGATE, Fla., Feb. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- ATI Inc. (NYSE: ATI) celebrated the commissioning of its world-class Additive Manufacturing Products facility, bringing on-line the most advanced large-format, metal additive manufacturing capabilities in the industry. The vertically integrated greenfield build includes design, printing, heat treating, machining and inspection capabilities under one roof.

"Layer by layer, additive manufacturing gives us the ability to produce high-performance, highly complex components for our customers – faster, with less waste," said Kimberly A. Fields, ATI President and CEO, commemorating the grand opening with customers, community supporters and industry leaders. The new operations – built upon nearly a decade of additive manufacturing expertise – is capable of printing the tallest parts in the western world: up to 1.5 meters in geometries previously not possible.

"ATI is a metallurgical leader, developing new alloy powder materials specifically for additive manufacturing. In this new facility, we've brought our materials science and forging expertise together with additive manufacturing production acumen, delivering high-quality production at scale," said Fields. "From design to finished product, we've formed a powerhouse that solves our customers' most difficult challenges for the most demanding markets—aerospace, defense and space."

Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. (BPMI) awarded ATI its first contract to be produced at the new facility, for highly engineered part solutions in support of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, grand opening attendees toured the 132,000-square-foot facility to see the advanced manufacturing operations in action, including laser powder bed fusion printing. Additive Manufacturing Products has implemented a comprehensive quality system that meets the standards of both ISO 9001 and AS9100D. The investment, announced in late 2023, is included in the company's existing capital expenditure guidance.
