American Water Wraps Up Future Wavemakers Internship Program, Expands Student Opportunities with Flow Forward
“The future of the water industry relies on investing in people,” said Lori Sutton, EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer, American Water. “Through programs such as the Future Wavemakers internship for college students, Flow Forward educational initiatives for high school students, and Water UP!, which provides hands-on utility training for adults, American Water is dedicated to cultivating opportunities for the next generation, while continuing to develop our current workforce.”
Future Wavemakers is built on a foundation of mentorship, professional development, and real-world projects that align with both students’ academic backgrounds and American Water’s organizational goals. Interns participated in capstone projects, networking events, and skill-building workshops, all while contributing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the company.
