Pennsylvania American Water Completes Acquisition of the Appalachian Utilities, Inc. Water System

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) approved the acquisition on Sept. 11, 2025. Pennsylvania American Water will adopt the rates currently charged to the system’s customers. As the PUC regulates the company’s rates and service rules, any future changes to rates must be reviewed and approved by the Commission.
With the acquisition, Pennsylvania American Water welcomed the system’s three full-time employees to its local team – strengthening its commitment to the community.
