BlackBerry and TTTech Auto have announced a new solution called MotionWise Schedule for QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0, designed to address complexities in automotive software development for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). The solution provides high-performance runtime environment with deterministic task scheduling, optimizing resource utilization and reducing design efforts.

The new offering simplifies complex integration tasks by automating scheduling solutions, allowing incremental software additions without compromising quality. It delivers improved OS task switching and increased CPU resource availability compared to other scheduling policies. The solution will be available in early 2025 and will be demonstrated at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

BlackBerry has integrated Avathon's computer vision AI platform into its AtHoc critical event management solution. The integration enhances AtHoc's ability to securely collect, validate and share information across channels for coordinated emergency response. AtHoc, which operates independently from enterprise IT networks, now leverages Avathon's visual AI technology to provide real-time insights from CCTV cameras, enabling object detection, scene classification, and proactive decision-making capabilities.

The partnership aims to strengthen AtHoc's position as a comprehensive crisis management platform by providing users with enhanced real-time data analysis and incident response capabilities.

BlackBerry welcomes the Government of Canada's $3.9M CAD investment in Malaysia's Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE). In partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University's Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, the initiative aims to train 3,500 cyber-defenders from Malaysia and ASEAN countries. The program includes comprehensive cybersecurity curriculum development, dedicated programs for women, and globally-recognized industry certifications. BlackBerry announced that Hyundai Mobis, a Hyundai Motor Group subsidiary, has selected BlackBerry QNX to power its next-generation digital cockpit platform. The platform will utilize QNX Hypervisor for Safety and QNX Advanced Virtualization Frameworks (QAVF) to provide a secure software foundation. ISO 26262 - ASIL D certified, the platform enables multiple systems with different operating environments to run on a single hardware platform, reducing development time and costs. The digital cockpit platform is expected to be commercialized by multiple global automakers, integrating multiple screens including digital cluster and infotainment systems.
