QNX-powered systems can now feed live telemetry into Sift with no firmware changes, enabling engineers to query machine data within one second of leaving the device

MARINA DEL RAY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sift, the data infrastructure platform for mission-critical hardware, today announced that it has joined forces with QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB) (TSX: BB) to deliver near real-time observability for embedded systems. Engineers building mission and safety critical systems can now stream live telemetry from QNX-powered systems directly into Sift and query that data within one second of leaving the device, without requiring changes to software running on the device itself.

Embedded in more than 275 million vehicles worldwide, QNX technology is trusted by leading OEMs and Tier 1s including BMW, Bosch, Continental, Geely, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. Beyond automotive, QNX is increasingly serving as the software foundation for Physical AI, powering robotic systems, industrial automation, medical devices and other intelligent machines that must make real-world decisions safely and reliably. Yet many of the teams building these systems still lack the infrastructure needed to effectively capture, analyze and act on the vast amounts of sensor data they generate.

QNX provides the safety-certified software foundation for these devices, while Sift gives engineering teams a unified platform to analyze the telemetry they produce. Integration is simplified. Sift subscribes to the telemetry streams running on QNX® OS already broadcast, including MQTT, and can take other protocols through custom ingestion paths. The integration allows live telemetry streaming from a device running QNX® OS 8.0 through its existing MQTT broker into Sift, where each message is queryable using standard SQL within one second of leaving the device.

That matters most on complex machines. QNX-powered systems often produce thousands of separate measurements across dozens of subsystems, and Sift places them on a single timeline, allowing engineers to compare a fault event against the CPU load that preceded it or compare one unit against the previous hundred shipped.
