PANAMA CITY, Oct. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Bladex (NYSE: BLX) was honored at the 2025 edition of the LatinFinance Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards with two distinctions: Loan of the Year for its participation in the financing of the Gran Morgu project in Suriname, and Airport Financing of the Year for the structuring of the Aerodom financing in the Dominican Republic.

"This recognition from LatinFinance deeply honors us and reaffirms our ability to structure innovative financial solutions that not only mobilize capital, but also generate transformative impact in the countries of the region," said Samuel Canineu, Chief Commercial Officer of Bladex. "Our commitment remains the same: to connect opportunities, support sustainable growth, and actively contribute to the development of Latin America."

Bladex, together with Staatsolie, structured a long-term secured financing of USD 1.6 billion, plus additional hedging facilities and letters of credit totaling USD 125 million. These funds will be used to refinance existing debt and finance Staatsolie's 20% participation in the Gran Morgu project, located in Block 58 off the coast of Suriname.

The transaction, co-structured with Deutsche Bank and Afreximbank and financed by a syndicate of international banks, stands as the largest project financing transaction in Suriname's history and paves the way for initial offshore oil production expected by mid-2028.

In addition, LatinFinance also recognized Bladex's leadership in structuring a USD 940 million financing for Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom), in partnership with six international financial institutions. The operation included a USD 500 million global bond issuance and a USD 440 million syndicated loan, aimed at funding an ambitious modernization and expansion plan of the Dominican Republic's airport infrastructure.

This financing ranks among the largest corporate financings in the Dominican Republic's history and represents a key step in strengthening the country's air connectivity and logistical development, supporting the growth of tourism, trade, and foreign investment. The transaction consolidates Aerodom's role as a strategic operator in the Caribbean and reflects Bladex's commitment to projects that foster regional competitiveness and sustainable development.
