advanced metering infrastructure (ami) technical
Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is a network of digital electric, gas, or water meters that automatically measure and transmit usage data in near real time to utilities and customers. Think of it as replacing old utility meters with a connected system — like swapping a simple thermometer for a weather app that reports constantly — which lets companies manage supply, detect outages, and offer time-based pricing; investors care because AMI affects revenue accuracy, operating costs, regulatory compliance, and new service opportunities.
saas technical
SaaS, or Software as a Service, is a way of delivering computer programs over the internet, allowing users to access and use them through a web browser without needing to install or maintain the software themselves. For investors, it highlights a business model where companies generate recurring revenue by providing ongoing access to their software, often leading to predictable income and growth potential.
m&a financial
M&A, short for mergers and acquisitions, involves one company combining with or purchasing another company to grow, streamline operations, or gain competitive advantages. For investors, M&A activity can signal potential for increased value, new opportunities, or changes in market dynamics, making it an important factor to watch in the business landscape.
forward-looking statements regulatory
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Badger Meter, Inc. (NYSE: BMI), a global leader in smart water management solutions, today announced a series of executive leadership changes effective January 1, 2026.

Ken Bockhorst, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated: “I am excited to announce key executive leadership changes that align our strategic priorities with a management structure designed to expand our market leadership in cellular Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), while growing our BlueEdge® suite of solutions across the entire water cycle.

Over the past five years, we have more than doubled our revenues and profits, broadened our product portfolio and scaled our organization. As part of a larger company, these leadership changes best position us for continued innovation, differentiated execution and robust growth, all while providing a best-in-class customer experience.”

Effective January 1, 2026:

Robert A. Wrocklage, who has served as Senior Vice President – Chief Financial Officer for seven years, will be elevated to Executive Vice President – North America Municipal Utility, overseeing applicable sales, marketing, operations, and engineering resources.

Daniel R. Weltzien will be promoted to Vice President – Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, following seven years as Vice President - Controller. Mr. Weltzien will oversee the Company’s financial strategy and management, accounting, external reporting, investor relations and treasury functions, amongst other responsibilities. He has nearly 25 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, including deep experience at both public companies and within public accounting.

On the CFO transition, Bockhorst commented: Bob has repeatedly demonstrated a natural talent for integrating both financial and operational leadership. His clarity of vision, financial discipline, growth enablement, and operational acumen will greatly benefit the organization. Additionally, Dan has been a key part of our success spanning financial discipline, positive operating results, and accelerating the transformation of Badger Meter into a global leader of smart water management solutions. Bob, Dan and I have more than 15 years of shared professional history, both at Badger Meter and elsewhere, and I look forward to working with both of them in their expanded capacities.”

Kimberly K. Stoll will be promoted to Vice President – Customer Support and General Manager – SmartCover. In addition to overseeing North America-based customer care, sales operations and customer success resources, she will assume overall responsibility for SmartCover. Ms. Stoll joined Badger Meter in 2008 and has been instrumental in driving growth, most recently as Vice President Sales and Marketing in North America.

Matthew L. Stuyvenberg will be promoted to Executive Vice President - SaaS, Global Commercial and International Utility. His responsibilities will include overseeing the applicable sales, marketing, operations, product and software engineering and international support functions.

Christina M. Tarantino will succeed Mr. Weltzien as Vice President - Controller. Ms. Tarantino has been with Badger Meter for the past four years and has 17 years of financial reporting and accounting experience.

Corey T. Williams will transition from General Manager of SmartCover to Senior Director – Business Development, leveraging his collection systems and industry expertise to lead the Badger Meter’s business development and M&A activities.

Bockhorst concluded: These executive leadership changes have been achieved solely through internal promotions and resources, which is a testament to our annual talent management and succession planning processes. I am confident that this enhanced leadership structure will position the Company for the future and build upon our long track record of success.”

None of these leadership changes are expected to impact the Company’s single-segment operating structure or external product line reporting.

Management further reaffirmed its five-year forward outlook of high-single-digit organic revenue growth, normalized gross margin range of 39-42% and stated capital allocation priorities.
