5 terms
water pollution control permit regulatory
"transferred the Water Pollution Control Permit ("WPCP")"
A water pollution control permit is an official license issued by a government agency that sets the limits and conditions under which a facility may discharge wastewater or runoff into streams, rivers, lakes, or coastal waters. It matters to investors because the permit determines operational constraints, compliance costs, potential fines, and the risk of forced shutdowns—like a speed limit that controls how a business can operate in a particular environment and the consequences of breaking it.
reclamation permit regulatory
"and the Reclamation permit for its Springer tungsten project"
A reclamation permit is an official authorization that allows and often requires a company to restore land or water areas after industrial use, such as mining, construction, or waste disposal. For investors, it matters because obtaining and complying with the permit can add predictable costs, timelines and legal obligations—like a required repair plan after damage—affecting project budgets, liabilities and the ability to begin or continue operations.
reclamation closure bond regulatory
"the Project's reclamation closure bond has been approved and posted"
A reclamation closure bond is a regulatory financial guarantee that a company posts to ensure funds are available to close and restore land and facilities after mining, drilling, or other extractive/industrial activities. Think of it like a large security deposit or promise to a regulator that covers the cost of cleanup and landscape restoration; it matters to investors because it creates a contingent liability, affects permitting and project cash needs, and can be called if the company fails to complete required reclamation.
notice of construction regulatory
"The Company received formal approval of the Notice of Construction"
A notice of construction is a regulatory filing companies submit before building or modifying a facility or equipment that could release air pollutants; it tells the local or state air-quality authority what will be built and how emissions will be controlled. It matters to investors because the approval process can impose permit conditions, monitoring or control costs, and timing uncertainty—similar to needing a building permit that may require specific safety features before work can start.
ni 43-101 technical
"as defined by NI 43-101"
A Canadian regulatory standard that sets the rules for how mining and exploration companies must report mineral resources and reserves, requiring technical reports prepared or signed off by an independent, certified expert. It matters to investors because it creates a consistent, transparent “inspection report” for mining projects, making it easier to compare prospects, judge the reliability of claims, and assess geological and financial risk before investing.

TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Moon Metals Inc. ("Blue Moon" or the "Company") (TSXV: MOON) (NASDAQ: BMM) is pleased to announce that the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection ("NDEP"), through its Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation, has transferred the Water Pollution Control Permit ("WPCP") and the Reclamation permit for its Springer tungsten project ("Springer" or the "Project") in Pershing County, Nevada, into the Company's name, and that the Project's reclamation closure bond has been approved and posted. The WPCP and the Reclamation Permit are the principal state environmental authorizations for mine development in Nevada, governing the construction, operation, and closure of a mine's facilities. With the WPCP, Reclamation Permit and reclamation bond in place, the Company is authorized to commence construction activities at Springer, including refurbishment of the existing mill and activities authorized under those permits.

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION APPROVED FOR THE TAILINGS STORAGE FACILITY

The plans and specifications for the Project's tailings storage facility were previously approved by the Nevada State Engineer, and the facility as designed is authorized under the WPCP and Reclamation Permit. The Company completed a formal design review with an independent third-party engineering firm and, following direct engagement with the Nevada Division of Water Resources' ("NDWR") Dam Safety Section, filed a Notice of Construction together with the technical review memorandum at the agency's direction. The Company received formal approval of the Notice of Construction on August 18, 2026, allowing construction of the tailings dam to begin on schedule.

Christian Kargl-Simard, CEO of Blue Moon, stated: "Since closing the purchase of Springer in February, our team has worked swiftly and diligently to advance the project. With these permits in hand, we are ready to start construction and on-track for a late 2027 startup, bringing tungsten production back to the United States. Springer will bring jobs and economic growth to Pershing County, reduce U.S. dependency on tungsten imports, and marks an important step in Blue Moon's growth as a critical minerals producer."
