Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

July and September Bengal cargoes realized US$29 and US$31 above the Brent spot print on the bill of lading date.

Calgary, Alberta--(Newsfile Corp. - October 16, 2026) - Bengal Energy Ltd. (TSX: BNG) ("Bengal" or the "Company") reports that crude oil sold under its third-party marketing agreements in fiscal 2027 to date has realized a material premium to quoted Brent.

For Bengal crude with bills of lading from May to September 2026, the volume-weighted invoice price was US$116.63 per barrel. The volume-weighted EIA Europe Brent spot price on those sale dates was US$91.50. The premium was therefore US$25.13 per barrel (approximately 27%).

Naphtha sold during this period realized a lower premium. The volume-weighted naphtha premium was US$2.42 per barrel. Naphtha is not the basis of the premium statement in this release.

Including crude and naphtha sales from its production stream, Bengal realized a volume-weighted price of US$109.34 against volume-weighted Brent of US$95.06, which is a premium of US$14.28 per barrel (approximately 15%).

The incremental positive cashflows generated from the higher-than-anticipated crude oil premium is expected to be used to settle longer-term joint venture payables and for the acquisition of long lead items associated with the Company's Ramses-2 test program.

How the comparison is made

The sale date is compared to quoted prices on that date unless that date was not a trading day in which case the comparison uses the prior EIA trading day.

The realized price is the invoice unit price before marketing and wharfage. Those charges are deducted from cash received and are not part of the product-price comparison. GST is excluded. Royalty is not deducted on the invoice and is not in this comparison.

The benchmark is the U.S. Energy Information Administration Europe Brent Spot Price FOB. ICE front-month futures closes are a different series and are not used.
