hybrid cloudtechnical
A hybrid cloud is a computing setup that mixes a company’s own servers with rented services from public cloud providers, letting businesses choose where each application and dataset lives. Think of it like keeping valuables in a private safe while also using a nearby storage unit for overflow; this matters to investors because it influences a company’s costs, flexibility, regulatory risk and ability to scale or offer new services, all of which affect profitability and competitive strength.
fp&afinancial
Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) involves examining a company's financial data to help guide its future decisions. It’s like creating a detailed roadmap that shows where the business is now, where it wants to go, and how to get there. Investors rely on FP&A to understand a company's financial health and its potential for growth, making it a key tool for assessing investment opportunities.
as-a-service modeltechnical
A service delivery method where a company provides software, computing power, or business functions over the internet on a subscription or pay-per-use basis instead of selling a one-time product. For investors, this model often means steadier, more predictable revenue and faster scalability—like renting a tool instead of buying it—so companies can grow recurring income, improve cash flow visibility, and be valued more on future subscription stability than on one-off sales.
ai-forwardtechnical
A company described as "ai-forward" makes artificial intelligence a central part of its strategy, products, or operations rather than a side project. Like swapping a gasoline engine for an electric motor, that focus can change how the business creates value, scale, and costs; for investors it signals potential for faster growth, new revenue streams and efficiency gains, but also higher upfront spending, execution risk and exposure to shifting regulation and competition.
