Key Terms

carbon fiber plate technical
A carbon fiber plate is a thin, stiff layer made from tightly woven carbon strands set in resin, used to add strength and rigidity while keeping weight low. Think of it as a lightweight backbone or stiffening board inside products — from sporting goods to aerospace or medical devices — that improves performance and durability. Investors care because its use can raise product value, affect manufacturing cost, supply-chain risk, and create competitive or patent advantages.
peba technical
A lightweight, rubbery plastic known as polyether block amide (PEBA) used to make flexible parts like medical tubing, wearable devices, and performance shoe soles. Investors care because this material’s durability, comfort and ease of manufacturing can affect product quality, production costs, regulatory approvals and supply‑chain risk — factors that influence a company’s sales, margins and ability to scale.
polyurethane technical
Polyurethane is a versatile synthetic material that can be made into flexible foam, rigid insulation, coatings or adhesives — think of it as a plastic that can behave like a soft mattress or a hard, protective shell. It matters to investors because demand and margins track major industries (construction, automotive, furniture, appliances) and feedstock costs and environmental rules can quickly change manufacturers’ profitability, so shifts in polyurethane markets often signal broader industrial trends.
leno weave textile technical
A leno weave textile is a fabric made by twisting pairs of warp threads around the weft threads to lock them in place, creating an open, stable mesh that resists shifting or distortion. Investors care because this construction combines strength, breathability and dimensional stability—qualities valued in markets such as apparel, filtration, medical dressings and industrial nets—so demand, production cost and supply constraints can affect product pricing and a manufacturer’s competitive edge.
world athletics regulatory
World Athletics is the international governing body for track and field, responsible for setting rules, organizing major global competitions, standardizing records and rankings, and enforcing anti-doping standards. For investors, it matters because the organization controls event calendars, media and sponsorship rights and athlete eligibility—like a league commissioner—so its decisions directly affect revenue opportunities, brand exposure, legal and reputational risks, and the commercial value of hosts, sponsors and broadcasters.
msrp financial
MSRP is the price a manufacturer recommends retailers charge for a product, like a suggested sticker price on a car or appliance. For investors it signals pricing strategy and potential profit margins: if retailers sell above it demand may be strong or supply tight, while deep discounts below it can indicate weak sales or margin pressure. Comparing MSPR to actual selling prices helps assess revenue realism and competitive dynamics.

GOLETA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HOKA®, a division of Deckers Brands (NYSE: DECK), introduces the Cielo X1 3.0, the brand’s lightest super shoe to date. Propulsive and precision-tuned for race day, the Cielo X1 3.0 is engineered to minimize weight and maximize performance, helping runners chase their fastest results yet.

Driven by insights from HOKA elite athletes, the Cielo X1 3.0 is built for speed. The 3.0 sheds significant weight from the last Cielo iteration, while packing a propulsive carbon fiber plate, responsive PEBA foam and a grippy outsole. The Cielo X1 3.0 provides powerful energy return to sustain speed, while the compression-molded polyurethane outsole balances a lightweight grip with durability. Its ultra-breathable Leno weave textile keeps weight down while locking the foot in place, and the dynamic vamp adapts to natural movement for a secure, flexible fit.

Finished with asymmetrical lacing to reduce pressure points and improve comfort, every detail on HOKA’s Cielo X1 3.0 is engineered to deliver maximum propulsion, efficiency, and comfort at race pace.

Speed of Light

To launch the new Cielo X1 3.0, the Speed of Light campaign celebrates the electricity of momentum and features HOKA product team members, Ari Hendrix-Roach and Brandon Johnson, who contributed to the development of the shoe. Both accomplished athletes and Olympic Trials qualifiers themselves; their inclusion in the campaign reflects HOKA’s ethos as a brand built by runners, for runners.

To celebrate the launch, run clubs around the world will unite to experience the Speed of Light and the debut of the Cielo X1 3.0. Across major cities, runners will have the chance to trial the new shoe and join community runs to feel the speed of light firsthand.
