6 terms
american depositary shares financial
"The ticker symbol change will apply to the Company’s American Depositary Shares, each representing one Ordinary Share"
American depositary shares (ADSs) are a way for investors in the United States to buy shares of foreign companies without dealing with international markets directly. They represent ownership in a foreign company's stock and are traded on U.S. stock exchanges, making it easier for American investors to buy, sell, and own parts of companies from around the world.
discontinued operations financial
"report and classify its Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (“ESWL”) and Distribution operating segments as discontinued operations"
Discontinued operations are parts of a company that it has decided to sell or shut down, and no longer plans to run in the future. This matters to investors because it helps them understand which parts of the business are ongoing and which are being phased out, providing a clearer picture of the company’s current performance and future prospects. Think of it like a store closing a department—it no longer contributes to sales or profits.
extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy medical
"report and classify its Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (“ESWL”) and Distribution operating segments"
A noninvasive medical procedure that uses focused sound waves from outside the body to break up kidney stones and other hard deposits so they can be passed or removed more easily, like using targeted sonar to crack a rock into smaller pieces. Investors care because the procedure depends on specialised equipment, clinical adoption, reimbursement policies and patient demand; changes in any of those factors can affect sales, margins and growth for healthcare providers and device makers.
cusip regulatory
"the American Depositary Shares will continue to be listed on Nasdaq and the CUSIP number will remain unchanged"
A CUSIP is a nine-character alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a U.S. or Canadian financial security—such as a stock, bond, or fund share—like a Social Security number for an investment. It matters to investors because brokers, exchanges and record-keepers use the CUSIP to match trades, track ownership, settle transactions and pull accurate records, reducing errors and ensuring money and securities go to the right place.

ticker symbol financial
"changing its ticker symbol on Nasdaq from “EDAP” to “FOCL”"
A ticker symbol is a short, unique code of letters or characters that identifies a publicly traded security on an exchange — like a car’s license plate or a person’s nickname for the market. Investors use ticker symbols to look up live prices, place trades, and follow news; using the correct symbol makes sure you’re tracking or buying the intended stock, bond, or fund and helps avoid costly mix-ups.

hifu medical
"understand our vision, recognize the momentum of our HIFU business"
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses tightly focused ultrasound waves to heat and destroy targeted tissue inside the body without cutting skin, like using a magnifying glass to burn a tiny spot with sunlight. For investors, HIFU matters because it represents a device and therapy market where clinical results, regulatory approvals, equipment sales, and insurance coverage determine revenue potential and adoption rates.
