ES Bancshares, Inc. Announces Third Quarter 2026 Results; Tenth Consecutive Quarter of Growth in Our Book Value Per Share
Margin and book value improved, while net loans and total deposits remained below year-end 2025 levels.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
ES Bancshares (OTCQX: ESBS) reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $1.0 million, up from the preceding quarter as net interest income increased. Diluted earnings per share rose to $0.14 from $0.13. Net interest income reached $4.814 million versus $4.666 million, while net interest margin—the net interest earned relative to average interest-earning assets—rose to 3.21% from 3.10%.
Book value per share increased for the tenth consecutive quarter, reaching $7.78 versus $7.64 in June. At September 30, net loans were $518.2 million, down 4.9% from year-end 2025; total deposits fell to $491.035 million from $502.537 million. Nonperforming assets declined to $4.9 million from $5.9 million. The bank's capital ratios exceeded well-capitalized thresholds. ES Bancshares terminated its second repurchase plan and bought no shares during the quarter.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.
