Evolv is proud to support PASS’s mission and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on layered school safety

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV) today announced that it has been approved as a Partner of the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS), a nonprofit organization focused on improving safety and security in K-12 schools. As a PASS Partner, Evolv is proud to support PASS’s mission of helping schools make informed, evidence-based decisions about safety and security.

Through the partnership, Evolv will participate in PASS training, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Evolv will have the opportunity to learn from PASS’s research-based guidance and from educators, public safety professionals, and other school security experts, while sharing perspectives from its work with school communities across the country.

PASS provides research-based guidelines, tools, and resources to help schools assess risks and develop layered safety and security strategies based on their individual environments. Its approach recognizes that school safety depends on the thoughtful integration of people, processes, and technology.

“PASS was founded to help schools make informed, evidence-based decisions about safety and security,” said Chuck Wilson, Board Chairman of PASS. “I’m pleased that Evolv Technology is supporting the mission of PASS. School safety requires a layered approach that brings together people, processes, and technology, and we welcome partners who are committed to learning from and contributing to that broader conversation.”

“Evolv is proud to support the mission of PASS and its work to help schools evaluate safety and security decisions in a thoughtful, evidence-based way,” said John Kedzierski, President and CEO of Evolv Technology. “Joining PASS gives us an opportunity to learn more from educators, public safety professionals, and school security experts, while contributing perspectives from our work with school communities as they consider layered approaches to safety.”

Evolv works with K-12 school districts to evaluate how weapons screening technology can support broader safety strategies. Evolv Express® provides AI-powered walk-through screening for concealed weapons, while Evolv eXpedite™ provides AI-powered bag screening. These technologies are intended to operate as one component of a layered security approach rather than as a school’s sole security measure.

Evolv’s participation in PASS will focus on supporting the organization’s mission through collaboration, education, and knowledge-sharing around layered school safety. The company’s experience with school communities will inform its engagement with PASS and its members as part of broader discussions involving weapons detection, threat assessment, deterrence, and school security planning. On October 1st, Education Week, Evolv Technology, IdentiSys, and PASS school safety experts will discuss the top priorities shaping K-12 safety planning and share actionable strategies to help strengthen preparedness, improve stakeholder confidence, and support student well-being. Key Terms

safety act designation regulatory
A safety act designation is a U.S. government certification under homeland security law that recognizes a product, service, or technology as qualified to prevent or respond to acts of terrorism and grants special legal protections against certain liability claims. For investors, it matters because the designation reduces the risk of costly lawsuits, signals government trust (which can boost sales and contracts), and can make a company's offering more attractive to large purchasers like government agencies — similar to a trusted safety label that both limits legal exposure and increases customer confidence.
qualified anti-terrorism technology regulatory
A qualified anti-terrorism technology is a security product or service that has received formal government recognition showing it meets standards for preventing or responding to terrorist acts and that grants its seller certain legal protections. For investors, this designation can reduce a company’s liability risk, make its offerings easier to sell to public and private customers, and increase the chance of government contracts—similar to a safety certification that also limits legal exposure.
