4 terms
in silico technical
"Head of Global In Silico and AI. Mr. Wang brings to Evotec..."
In silico means using computer models, simulations, or data analysis to study biological, chemical, or financial processes instead of physical experiments. For investors, in silico work can speed up research, lower costs and highlight promising opportunities or risks early—like using a flight simulator to test maneuvers before flying a real plane—while still requiring real-world testing to confirm results.
ai technical
"Head of Global In Silico and AI. Mr. Wang brings to Evotec..."
Artificial intelligence (AI) is technology that enables machines to mimic human thinking and learning, allowing them to analyze information, recognize patterns, and make decisions. For investors, AI matters because it can improve how businesses operate, create new products, or identify opportunities faster and more accurately than humans alone, potentially impacting company success and market trends.
r&d technical
"embed scalable data, analytics & AI across R&D, drug development, manufacturing..."
Research and development (R&D) is the work a company does to discover new products, improve existing ones, or develop better ways of making things — like a kitchen testing recipes to create a hit dish. For investors it matters because R&D is where future sales and competitive advantages are born, but it also uses cash and carries risk, so R&D spending and outcomes signal a company’s growth potential and uncertainty.
bioinformatics medical
"He holds M.Sc. degrees in Bioinformatics from the University of Manchester..."
The use of computer tools and data analysis to organize and interpret large biological datasets, such as DNA, protein or patient information. It matters to investors because it speeds up research, lowers development costs and helps identify promising drug targets, diagnostics or personalized treatments—think of it as using GPS and analytics to find the fastest, most reliable route through vast amounts of lab data.
