Innovative Aerosystems (IA) has been selected by Dornier Seawings to provide its Liberty Data Acquisition Unit for the Seastar aircraft. Under the program, IA will develop, test, certify and produce the unit for aircraft integration. The unit builds on IA's Utilities Management System technology and processes aircraft sensor data for distribution throughout the avionics system.
The program began in September 2026. IA expects it to progress through design reviews, prototype hardware deliveries, qualification testing and certification, with Technical Standard Order achievement targeted for 2028. The scope includes aircraft integration, certification support, ground and flight-test support, and training. Dornier Seawings expects to deliver approximately 300 aircraft over the first ten years of the program.
