Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

The poster covers a randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind first-in-human study in healthy volunteers. IMP761 is an antibody designed to activate LAG-3, an immune-system receptor, to suppress immune responses. The study is being conducted by the Centre for Human Drug Research in Leiden, the Netherlands. Poster LB09 is scheduled for 10:30 AM–12:30 PM ET at the meeting in Orlando, Florida. First interim study data were presented at EULAR in June 2026. The poster will be available on Immutep’s website following the presentation.

Key Terms

lag-3, placebo-controlled, double-blind, keyhole limpet haemocyanin
4 terms
lag-3 medical
"first-in-class immunosuppressive LAG-3 agonist antibody"
A protein found on certain immune cells that acts like a brake, helping control how aggressively the immune system attacks threats such as cancer. Drugs that block or modify LAG-3 can release that brake, potentially enabling stronger anti‑cancer responses; because such treatments can change patient outcomes and open new markets, LAG-3-related data, approvals, or setbacks often have big effects on a biotech or pharmaceutical company’s valuation.
placebo-controlled medical
"randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind first-in-human Phase I study"
"Placebo-controlled" describes a testing method where one group receives the actual treatment or intervention, while another group receives a harmless, inactive version called a placebo. This approach helps determine whether the real treatment has genuine effects beyond psychological expectations. For investors, understanding this ensures confidence that reported benefits are real and not influenced by bias or false perceptions.
double-blind medical
"randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind first-in-human Phase I study"
A double-blind process means that neither the people conducting an activity nor the people involved know certain key details, such as who is receiving a treatment or a placebo. This approach helps prevent bias from influencing the results, making the outcome more trustworthy. For investors, it ensures that decisions or judgments are based on unbiased information rather than preconceived opinions or expectations.
keyhole limpet haemocyanin medical
"using CHDR’s keyhole limpet haemocyanin (KLH) challenge model"
A large oxygen-carrying protein from the marine mollusk known as the keyhole limpet, used in medicine and biotechnology as a highly immunogenic carrier. Because it is foreign and strongly stimulates the immune system, it is commonly chemically linked to small molecules or weak antigens (conjugation) to provoke a stronger antibody response for vaccines, antibody production, or diagnostic assays; it is not itself a specific antigen for the target but acts as a scaffold and immune stimulant. As a biologic material, batches can vary and its marine origin is relevant for manufacturing, regulatory handling, and potential allergic considerations.

About IMP761

IMP761 is a first-in-class immunosuppressive LAG-3 agonist antibody and the only LAG-3 agonist currently in clinical development. It is designed to selectively target activated T cells at sites of inflammation, with the aim of reducing pathological immune responses while preserving systemic immune function. Preclinical data supporting IMP761’s mechanism have been published in the Journal of Immunology,¹ with additional supporting data in oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (o-JIA) published in Pediatric Research.² The program builds on Immutep’s expertise in the LAG-3 pathway and is being developed as a potential mechanism-based therapy across multiple autoimmune indications driven by T-cell-mediated inflammation.

About Immutep

Immutep is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. The Company is a pioneer in the understanding and advancement of therapeutics related to Lymphocyte Activation Gene-3 (LAG-3), and its diversified product portfolio harnesses LAG-3’s ability to stimulate or suppress the immune response.
