ebitda financial
"EBITDA1 for the three months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $41.2 million"
EBITDA stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. It measures a company's profitability by focusing on the money it makes from its core operations, ignoring expenses like taxes and accounting adjustments. Investors use EBITDA to compare how well different companies are performing financially, as it provides a clearer picture of operational success without the influence of financial structure or accounting choices.
View in glossary
non-gaap financial
"EBITDA, Adjusted EBITDA, Adjusted Net Income and Adjusted EPS are non-GAAP measures"
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.

time charter technical
"Approximately 50% of total fleet calendar days in Q2 26’ were dedicated to time charter activity"
A time charter is an agreement where a ship owner rents out their vessel to a customer for a set period, during which the customer has control over the ship’s use and operation. This arrangement matters to investors because it provides a steady income stream for the ship owner and indicates ongoing demand for shipping services, reflecting the health of global trade and transportation markets.
drydocking technical
"During the three months ended June 30, 2026, six vessels underwent drydocking"
Drydocking is the process of bringing a ship out of the water to inspect, repair, or maintain its hull and underwater parts. It’s similar to taking a car to a garage for an oil change or repairs, but for a vessel. This maintenance is important because it ensures the ship remains safe and efficient, which can impact a company’s operational costs and overall reliability—factors that matter to investors.
suezmax technical
"one suezmax tanker and one supramax drybulk carrier underwent drydocking"
Suezmax is the classification for the largest oil tanker size that can pass through the Suez Canal fully loaded; think of it as the biggest truck that still fits down a narrow highway. It matters to investors because ship size influences shipping costs, route choices and supply-chain flexibility — factors that affect oil transport expenses, freight rates and the profitability of energy and shipping companies.

Our exceptional second quarter and first half of 2026 demonstrate the power of our commercial strategy and disciplined execution. By securing record revenues of $87.1 million for Q2 26’, expanding our fleet toward a 25-vessel target while remaining debt free, we have driven net income for the first six months to a remarkable $62.8 million, already surpassing our profitability for the entirety of 2025. Backed by a solid balance sheet and with cash to date in the order of approximately $260 million and a fleet value anticipated to increase with our upcoming vessel additions, we are well equipped to navigate shifting geopolitical landscapes. Imperial Petroleum is in a prime position to produce strong results, while holding a flawless balance sheet and a track record of creating value through the Company’s growth and strategic asset management.

EBITDA, adjusted EBITDA, adjusted net income and adjusted EPS are not recognized measurements under U.S. GAAP. Our calculation of EBITDA, adjusted EBITDA, adjusted net income and adjusted EPS may not be comparable to that reported by other companies in the shipping or other industries. In evaluating Adjusted EBITDA, Adjusted net income and Adjusted EPS, you should be aware that in the future we may incur expenses that are the same as or similar to some of the adjustments in this presentation.

EBITDA, adjusted EBITDA, adjusted net income and adjusted EPS are included herein because they are a basis, upon which we and our investors assess our financial performance. They allow us to present our performance from period to period on a comparable basis and provide investors with a means of better evaluating and understanding our operating performance. Management also uses these non-GAAP financial measures in making financial, operating and planning decisions and in evaluating our performance.
