Key Terms

uninterruptible power supply, battery management system, ai data center, backup power
4 terms
uninterruptible power supply technical
"including uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, cooling infrastructure"
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a backup electrical system that instantly provides power when the main electricity fails, like a battery that keeps essential devices running until normal power returns or a generator starts. Investors care because UPS units protect revenue-generating operations, prevent costly downtime, and safeguard sensitive equipment and data — much like an emergency brake that preserves value during unexpected outages.
battery management system technical
"Xinchu’s proprietary energy storage batteries and Battery Management System (BMS) technologies"
A battery management system (BMS) is the electronic control unit that monitors and regulates a rechargeable battery pack’s health, charge level, temperature and balance between cells to keep it safe and working efficiently. Think of it as a traffic manager and thermostat for a battery: it prevents overcharging, overheating and uneven wear, estimates remaining range or runtime, and communicates status to the device. Investors care because a strong BMS improves product safety, lifespan, performance, regulatory compliance and can reduce warranty costs and reputational risk, all of which affect a company’s costs and competitive position.
ai data center technical
"strengthens Kandi’s position in the AI data center (AIDC) backup power"
An AI data center is a specialized facility that houses powerful computers, networking gear, and cooling systems designed specifically to run and store artificial intelligence workloads, like training large models and serving real-time AI applications. Investors care because these centers are capital-intensive infrastructure that enable companies to offer advanced AI services, drive recurring revenue, and create competitive advantages, much like a factory that determines how quickly and cheaply a business can produce its product.
backup power technical
"one-stop power solutions for both backup power and energy storage applications"
Backup power is the equipment and systems—such as generators, batteries, or uninterruptible power supplies—that keep a facility running when the main electricity source fails. For investors, it matters because these systems protect revenue and operations by preventing costly shutdowns, regulatory breaches, or data loss; think of backup power as a spare tire and emergency fuel for a business, trading some upfront cost for reduced risk and greater reliability.

JINHUA, China, July 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kandi Technologies Group, Inc. (the “Company” or “Kandi”) (NASDAQ GS: KNDI), a global innovator in intelligent equipment and a technology-driven platform company, today announced that Hangzhou Xinchu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“Xinchu”), which the Company has contracted to acquire 51% of the equity interests, has been named an authorized distributor by Schneider Electric IT (China) Co., Ltd. (“Schneider Electric”) for fiscal year 2026. The authorization enables Xinchu to distribute and support Schneider Electric’s APC, MGE, and Schneider-branded portfolio, including uninterruptible power supply (UPS)  systems, cooling infrastructure, racks and cabinets, software, and related technical services. It also strengthens Xinchu’s ability to deliver integrated power infrastructure solutions for data centers, telecommunications base stations, and energy storage systems.

This authorization also strengthens Kandi’s position in the AI data center (AIDC) backup power and energy storage market by improving its access to products and supply chain resources that support data center energy infrastructure solutions. The Company believes the authorization represents an important milestone in expanding its upstream hardware capabilities and strengthening its supply chain foundation for its AIDC power and energy storage business.

Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management and automation, offering a broad portfolio of data center infrastructure solutions, including UPS systems, power management, and physical infrastructure products. This authorized distributor designation enhances Xinchu’s ability to participate in data center and telecommunications base station energy infrastructure projects. This is expected to further strengthen the Company’s competitive position in the AIDC market.

“As AI compute infrastructure continues to scale globally, the need for highly reliable backup power and energy storage solutions is becoming increasingly critical,” said Mr. Feng Chen, Chief Executive Officer of Kandi. “Being an authorized distributor of Schneider Electric marks an important milestone in advancing Xinchu’s capabilities in AIDC backup power and energy storage and further strengthens our ability to serve the data center energy infrastructure market. Looking ahead, we will continue to expand our presence in AIDC and broader new energy infrastructure applications, enhance our end-to-end solution capabilities, and capitalize on the significant opportunities arising from the global buildout of AI infrastructure.”
