digital asset management technical
Digital asset management is the professional handling of investments that exist in electronic form, such as cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities, or other blockchain-based holdings. For investors it covers safekeeping, trading access, record-keeping and strategies to grow or protect value—think of it like a secure vault plus a portfolio manager tailored to digital items, helping reduce theft, operational mistakes and uncertainty about what the holdings are worth.
dam technical
A dam is a large engineered wall or barrier that holds back water to create a reservoir used for purposes like water supply, flood control and generating electricity. For investors, dams matter because they are long-lived assets that can produce steady revenue or cut costs (for example by generating power), but they also carry major construction, maintenance, regulatory and environmental risks—think of a dam as a combined savings account, utility and potential liability.
cloud-based technical
Software, data or services that run on remote computers accessed over the internet instead of on a user’s own device; think of renting storage, apps and computing power in someone else’s warehouse rather than buying and maintaining the gear yourself. Investors care because cloud-based models can lower a company’s upfront costs, speed product updates, scale quickly with demand and create recurring revenue, all of which affect cash flow, growth prospects and valuation.
metadata technical
Metadata is descriptive information about a piece of data—like a label on a file or an index card for a document—that explains what the data is, when it was created, who produced it, and how it was generated. For investors, metadata matters because it helps verify authenticity, track provenance, and make large data sets searchable and comparable, which supports due diligence, regulatory compliance, and more reliable analysis of financial or clinical information.
proxies technical
Proxies are the voting materials and authorizations shareholders use to cast votes on corporate decisions when they cannot attend a meeting in person; they include summaries of proposals, board nominations, executive pay plans, and instructions for how to vote or appoint someone else to vote on their behalf. Investors care because proxy votes decide who runs a company and what policies it will follow—much like an absentee ballot or power of attorney for a meeting—so outcomes can affect strategy, risk and the value of shares.
transcodes technical
Transcodes means converting data or digital files from one format or code into another so they can be read, analyzed or transmitted by different systems. For investors this matters because reliable transcoding keeps financial, regulatory or medical records accurate and usable across platforms, reduces delays and compliance risk, and affects operational costs — like translating a book so any reader can understand it without losing meaning.
api-based technical
API-based systems use Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to let separate software pieces talk to each other and exchange data automatically. For investors, an API-based product or service suggests faster integration with partners, easier scaling and often recurring, platform-driven revenue—like using interchangeable Lego blocks to add new features quickly—affecting growth potential, costs and competitive reach.
workflows technical
Workflows are the planned sequence of steps, tasks and approvals that move a job from start to finish inside an organization, involving people, systems and tools—think of it like a recipe or an assembly line that ensures actions happen in the right order. Investors care about workflows because clear, efficient processes reduce mistakes, speed delivery, lower costs and make growth easier to scale, so strong workflows often signal better operational performance and steadier future earnings.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Orange Logic, a leader of enterprise digital asset management (DAM) solutions, today announced that Lionsgate (NYSE: LION), one of the world's leading standalone, pure play content companies, has selected Orange Logic as its global platform for streamlining content production across all marketing teams.

Lionsgate is consolidating several legacy DAM systems into a centralized, cloud-based environment powered by Orange Logic. The platform will serve as the company’s primary repository for final and approved marketing materials, including trailers, promotional art, logos, and any related creative assets.

As part of Lionsgate’s initiative to bring digital asset storage and management into its own cloud infrastructure, Orange Logic will help streamline the process of moving approved materials to internal teams and external partners. The platform will integrate with existing Lionsgate systems to remove manual steps and create a cleaner handoff between workflows. This reduces friction across departments, speeds approvals and delivery, and gives teams a clearer way to ensure rights are enforced at every stage.

“We were using multiple systems across marketing, which made it difficult to maintain a single source for final and approved assets,” said Jacob Robinson, Manager of Business Operations, Integration Services at Lionsgate. “Implementing Orange Logic allows us to centralize our marketing materials in our own cloud environment and establish a more consistent approach to managing and sharing assets across teams and partners.”

With Orange Logic, Lionsgate will be able to:

  • Provide internal teams and global partners with access to approved marketing assets through a centralized platform
  • Improve metadata consistency and searchability across titles and asset types
  • Support the creation of required proxies and transcodes for external distribution
  • Connect marketing materials to other Lionsgate systems through API-based workflows

Lionsgate and Orange Logic designed the implementation with future flexibility in mind, allowing for expansion into new workflows and adaptation to emerging technologies. Lionsgate shared that they were not certain where their platform or technology needs would go next, but they felt confident Orange Logic could support whatever direction they take.

“We see our work with Lionsgate as a collaborative, long-term partnership,” said Brian McLaughlin, CEO of Orange Logic. “Their engagement throughout the process has helped shape how the platform supports their teams today, and we’re excited to continue building with them as their team needs evolve.”
