cms conditions for participation regulatory
CMS Conditions for Participation are the federal health, safety and administrative rules that hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare providers must meet to be eligible to receive Medicare and Medicaid payments. Think of them like a required inspection checklist: passing keeps federal reimbursement and patient referrals flowing, while failing can lead to fines, loss of payment eligibility or reputational damage—factors that directly affect a provider’s revenue and investment risk.
42 cfr § 484.80 regulatory
42 C.F.R. § 484.80 is a federal rule that sets the required contents, approvals, and review schedule for a home health patient’s plan of care when services are billed to Medicare. Think of it as a formal “recipe and permission slip” that documents what care is needed, who ordered it, and how often it must be reviewed; meeting these rules matters to investors because noncompliance can lead to denied payments, audits, fines, and reputational risk for home health providers.
home health aide medical
A home health aide is a trained caregiver who provides routine medical support and daily living help—such as bathing, dressing, medication reminders, wound care or mobility assistance—to patients in their own homes. Investors care because demand, staffing levels, reimbursement rules and labor costs for these aides directly affect revenue, margins and regulatory risk for healthcare and home-care companies; think of them as the frontline service workers whose availability and cost shape a provider’s business performance.
medicaid regulatory
Medicaid is a government-funded health insurance program that provides medical coverage to low-income individuals, families, elderly people and people with disabilities, administered jointly by the federal government and state governments in the United States. For investors, Medicaid matters because changes in eligibility, funding, or payment rules can alter patient volume and the prices hospitals, nursing homes, insurers and medical suppliers receive—similar to how a large customer or contract can shift a company’s revenue outlook.
career network technical
A career network is a platform or web of professional connections where people share job openings, career advice, resumes and hiring signals — like a neighborhood where neighbors recommend work or introduce each other to employers. For investors, it matters because a large, active career network can generate recurring revenue from recruiting services, advertising and premium subscriptions, plus proprietary hiring data that signals labor-market trends and potential growth for the business.

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Molina Healthcare (“Molina”) today announced a workforce development initiative in partnership with HealthStream’s MissionCare Collective (“MissionCare”) to create 15,000 home health aide (“HHA”) positions across 26 states.

As part of this initiative, Molina is sponsoring an online HHA training program that meets CMS Conditions for Participation (42 CFR § 484.80). The curriculum, which is comprised of training activities and courses from MissionCare, is mobile-friendly, free, and now available in Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The program is designed for those looking to begin a career in HHA care, grow professionally in the field, or gain foundational training to better care for a loved one at home. Upon completion of the training, participants can continue the certification process with a local employer or school. Additionally, all participants will have access to job opportunities through HealthStream’s myCNAjobs site and their innovative Career Network for the home health workforce.

“Molina partners with our state customers to find unique solutions to the challenges that face the members and providers we serve across the country. We know most of our states are facing significant shortages in the healthcare workforce – a workforce needed for individuals to thrive in their homes and communities,” said Deb Bacon, executive vice president of Medicaid at Molina. “We’re proud to partner with HealthStream to increase capacity in the home care space, an investment in the well-being of the communities we serve.”

“There is very little awareness around careers in home health—especially among younger generations, for whom this work remains largely invisible,” said Brandi Kurtyka, vice president, talent marketplace & workforce strategy, HealthStream. “Our goal is to change that narrative—whether care becomes someone’s lifelong profession or a first step into the healthcare field. We need to create more career access opportunities and build a stronger pipeline of future caregivers.”

This initiative is part of a broader, multi-year strategy by Molina to expand access to care, improve retention among caregivers, and increase workforce capacity across its service areas.
