Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

diluted eps, ebitda, adjusted ebitda, non-gaap, +1 more
5 terms
diluted eps financial
"diluted EPS of $5.71"
Diluted earnings per share (EPS) shows how much profit a company makes for each share of stock, assuming all possible shares from stock options or convertible securities are used. It provides a more conservative estimate than basic EPS, accounting for potential share increases that could dilute ownership. Investors use diluted EPS to get a clearer picture of a company's true profitability on a per-share basis.
ebitda financial
"EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $63.3 million"
EBITDA stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. It measures a company's profitability by focusing on the money it makes from its core operations, ignoring expenses like taxes and accounting adjustments. Investors use EBITDA to compare how well different companies are performing financially, as it provides a clearer picture of operational success without the influence of financial structure or accounting choices.
View in glossary
adjusted ebitda financial
"Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $63.9 million"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
non-gaap financial
"EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are non-GAAP financial metrics."
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.
View in glossary
stock-based compensation financial
"Total stock-based compensation expense for the nine months ended"
Stock-based compensation is when a company pays employees, directors or consultants with shares or the right to buy shares instead of or in addition to cash. It matters to investors because issuing stock or options spreads ownership thinner (like cutting a pie into more slices), which can reduce each existing share’s claim on profits and can also change reported earnings; investors watch it to assess true cost of running the business and how management is incentivized.

Financial review for the three months ended September 30, 2026:

  • Net income attributable to Nutex Health was $40.2 million, or diluted EPS of $5.71, compared to $55.4 million, or diluted EPS of $7.76, for the three months ended September 30, 2025.
  • EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $63.3 million and Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $63.9 million, compared to $91.8 million and $98.5 million, respectively, for the three months ended September 30, 2025.
  • Total visits at the Hospital Division increased 18.1% year over year to 54,622, while visits at same hospitals, which are hospitals that were opened by December 31, 2024, increased 12.4%.
  • Net cash provided by operating activities was $78.3 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, as compared to $99.5 million for the same period in 2025.

Financial review for the nine months ended September 30, 2026:

  • Net income attributable to Nutex Health increased to $152.9 million, or diluted EPS of $21.50, compared to $59.0 million, or diluted EPS of $8.87, for the nine months ended September 30, 2025.
  • EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $225.8 million and Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Nutex Health was $211.4 million (including the $52.3 million non-cash reduction to contract services expense resulting from the change in estimate described below), compared to $142.9 million and $243.0 million, respectively, for the nine months ended September 30, 2025.
  • Total visits at the Hospital Division increased 10.2% year over year to 154,326, while visits at same hospitals increased 6.3%.
  • Net cash provided by operating activities was $188.1 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, as compared to $177.7 million for the same period in 2025; and as of September 30, 2026, the Company had long-term debt, net of $34.2 million, compared to $29.2 million as of December 31, 2025.
  • As of September 30, 2026, the Company had total assets of $1.0 billion, including cash and cash equivalents of $249.9 million, as compared to $918.5 million in total assets and $185.6 million in cash and cash equivalents as of December 31, 2025.

Note: EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are non-GAAP financial metrics. A reconciliation of non-GAAP to GAAP measures is included below in this earnings release.

Total revenue decreased 10.9% to $644.9 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, compared to $723.6 million for the same period in 2025, while hospital division revenue at same hospitals decreased 11.2%. Total revenue decreased 18.7% to $217.6 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, compared to $267.8 million for the same period in 2025, while hospital division revenue at same hospitals decreased 20.1%. The decrease was primarily driven by factors that favorably impacted revenue recognized in 2025, including the availability of additional collection data that supported higher estimates for services rendered in 2024, and the reconciliation of certain ineligible charts during the fourth quarter of 2025 that had been included from mid-2024 through the first nine months of 2025.

Of the Company's billable visits, approximately 50-60% are submitted through the IDR process, with 40-50% of all billable visits resulting in an award determination. When an award determination is made, Nutex Health prevailed in over 80% of those determinations over the last nine months and collects, on average, over 80% of the award amounts as calculated on awards from inception through March of 2026.

For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026, total cost of arbitration was $27.8 million and $61.4 million, respectively, compared to $41.9 million and $116.2 million for the same periods in 2025. Results for the nine months ended September 30, 2026 include a $52.3 million reduction to contract services expense resulting from a change in estimate related to the June 30, 2026 amendment to the Company's agreement with HaloMD and the reduction in the CMS administrative fee, which increased net income attributable to Nutex Health by $25.0 million, or $4.83 per diluted share.

Total stock-based compensation expense for the nine months ended September 30, 2026 was $6.4 million, compared to $119.6 million for the same period in 2025. Net income attributable to Nutex Health increased 159% in the first nine months of 2026 as compared to the same period in 2025, primarily due to lower stock-based compensation related to obligations for under-construction and ramping hospitals.

"2026 is continuing to be a solid financial year, including total revenue of $644.9 million, net income attributable to Nutex of $152.9 million, diluted EPS of $21.50 per share, and $188.1 million of operating cash flow in the first nine months of 2026. We also delivered meaningful operating income improvement, with operating income increasing to $280.1 million for the first nine months of 2026 from $244.7 million in the same period of 2025. Our balance sheet remains strong with a cash balance of $249.9 million and long-term debt of $34.2 million. We believe that we are well positioned to finish the year strong as we continue to grow with the expected opening of two new hospitals in the fourth quarter," stated Jon Bates, Chief Financial Officer of Nutex Health.

"We're very pleased with our progress in the first nine months of 2026. Patient volumes are growing across both existing hospitals and the overall network, while cash collections remain strong. Our de novo hospital development pipeline remains robust, with exciting growth opportunities ahead," stated Tom Vo, M.D., MBA, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nutex Health.

Non-GAAP Financial Measures

EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA. EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are used as supplemental non-GAAP financial measures by management and external users of our financial statements, such as industry analysts, investors, lenders, and rating agencies. We believe EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are useful because these measures allow us to more effectively evaluate our operating performance.

We define EBITDA as net income attributable to Nutex Health Inc. plus interest expense, net, income taxes, depreciation, and amortization. Interest expense, net includes interest on lease liabilities, which is a component of total finance lease cost.

We define Adjusted EBITDA as net income attributable to Nutex Health Inc. plus interest expense, net, income taxes, depreciation and amortization, further adjusted for stock-based compensation, finance lease payments related to leases under Accounting Standards Codification Topic 842: Leases ("ASC 842"), certain defined items of expense and any acquisition-related costs and impairments. A reconciliation of net income to EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA is included below.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2025, we have updated our presentation of Adjusted EBITDA to separately disclose finance lease payments related to leases under ASC 842. We believe this update provides greater transparency into our operating performance.

EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are not intended to serve as alternatives to U.S. GAAP measures of performance and may not be comparable to similarly-titled measures presented by other companies. EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA follow (in thousands):

FAQ

AI-generated questions and answers. How Rhea-AI works. Not financial advice.

What were Nutex Health's third-quarter 2026 earnings and revenue?

Nutex Health reported attributable net income of $40.2 million, diluted earnings per share of $5.71, and revenue of $217.6 million. A year earlier, attributable net income was $55.4 million and diluted earnings per share were $7.76. Revenue decreased 18.7% year over year.

Why did Nutex Health's revenue decline in 2026?

Nutex Health attributed the decline primarily to factors that favored revenue recognized in 2025. These included additional collection data supporting higher estimates for services rendered in 2024 and the fourth-quarter 2025 reconciliation of certain ineligible charts included from mid-2024 through the first nine months of 2025.

What caused Nutex Health's $52.3 million expense reduction in 2026?

The $52.3 million non-cash reduction to contract services expense resulted from a change in estimate related to the June 30, 2026 HaloMD agreement amendment and a reduction in the CMS administrative fee. It increased nine-month attributable net income by $25.0 million, or $4.83 per diluted share.

How much does Nutex Health use the independent dispute resolution process?
