"VendRx reports approximately 80% formulary coverage per deployment"
Formulary coverage is the list of prescription drugs a health plan or insurer agrees to pay for and the terms (such as copay levels or prior authorization) under which they will pay. It matters to investors because placement and tiering on a formulary strongly influence a drug’s sales, pricing power and adoption—similar to a product being stocked on prime store shelves versus a backroom shelf, which affects how much and how easily consumers can buy it.

VendRx kiosks could expand PharmcoRx's reach through clinic partnerships, creating new, scalable opportunities for incremental prescription volumes

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NextPlat Corp (NASDAQ: NXPL) ("NextPlat" or the "Company"), a global consumer products and services company providing healthcare and technology solutions through e-commerce and retail channels worldwide, today announced that its wholly owned pharmacy subsidiary, PharmcoRx, intends to launch automated prescription dispensing to select customer clinics and facilities with VendRx kiosks.

The VendRx kiosks will be installed in a healthcare provider's location as part of the contracted pharmacy services provided by PharmcoRx. Once installed, patients can quickly and conveniently pick up their prescriptions onsite immediately after their appointments with their care givers following patient consultation with a PharmcoRx pharmacist. Initial deployments are planned for later in the fourth quarter of 2026 with a wider rollout expected throughout 2027.

Every year in the U.S., a large percentage of prescriptions are never filled after a patient leaves their doctor's office. A contributing factor to patients failing to pick-up their prescribed medication is the fact that large retail chains continue closing pharmacies, resulting in many individuals finding themselves in a community without convenient pharmacy services, known as "pharmacy deserts." Even where a provider may be nearby, if it does not offer high-touch services such as at home delivery, the trip from the clinic to the pharmacy counter can be inconvenient, causing delays and frustration. Each unfilled prescription contributes to poor patient medication adherence, creating a missed opportunity for a better health outcome and adding avoidable increased healthcare system costs.

VendRx removes this barrier by placing the pharmacy at the point of care. Already operating in U.S. healthcare settings, VendRx reports approximately 80% formulary coverage per deployment which could help more patients leave their appointments with their prescribed medications in hand. The VendRx platform has completed more than 90,000 successful dispenses since inception, with no wrong-medication releases reported to VendRx (source: VendRx internal dispensing records and incident reporting history, through October 19th, 2026).

"The introduction of automated dispensing aligns with our focus on utilizing novel technologies and patient-focused high touch services to enhance care and convenience. This program is designed to open an additional prescription channel for PharmcoRx through clinics, bringing our pharmacy services closer to patients while supporting new provider relationships. With VendRx, each deployed kiosk is supported by our pharmacists who are available to every patient, so clinics get the speed of automation together with the care and oversight of a full-service pharmacy," said Birute Norkute, VP of Healthcare Operations at PharmcoRx. "As we have seen with our personalized prescription delivery services for patients, we believe automated onsite dispensing can be another valuable option, supporting our clinic partners with a proven, pharmacist-verified way to put prescriptions into a patient's hands, contributing to improved adherence and outcomes."

"PharmcoRx shares our conviction that medication access belongs at the point of care. Together, we're advancing a new pharmacy model that brings treatment to the moment of diagnosis—at scale. We're especially excited about what this means for patients and their healthcare providers," added Russell McKee, CEO, VendRx Inc.

Onsite automated prescription dispensing programs can benefit every healthcare stakeholder:

  • Clinics gain a modern, convenient new service that sets them apart, helps them attract and retain patients and could create a new revenue opportunity. It runs within existing workflows, with no extra staff and no on-site pharmacy to build.
  • Patients can start medication treatments right away, which matters most for acute conditions and supports better adherence for ongoing care.
  • For PharmcoRx, every clinic partnership expands its reach and prescription base.

Point-of-care dispensing is gaining momentum as evidenced by Amazon Pharmacy's launch of in-office prescription kiosks at One Medical clinics in late 2025. With VendRx, PharmcoRx can offer the same convenience to independent clinics and providers in its network.
