Protective Life Announces Expanded Virtual Workforce

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Protective Life Corporation (Protective), a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Dai-ichi Life Holdings, Inc. (TSE:8750), announced today the expansion of its virtual workforce, as the company refocuses its physical location footprint on three core sites in Birmingham, Cincinnati and St. Louis. Employees who regularly work in six Protective offices will join the company’s full-time virtual workforce, which is expected to represent over 40% of the company’s overall workforce at announcement.

Prior to the pandemic, approximately 19% of Protective employees worked remotely, and over the past six months, 95% of the company’s workforce has been working virtually. With employees performing well in this environment, and many signaling they would like to continue doing so post-pandemic, Protective decided to accelerate implementation of its workforce strategy.
