TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Playmaker Capital Inc. (TSX-V: PMKR) (“Playmaker”), the digital sports media company that delivers authentic content experiences through its portfolio of sports media and affiliate brands, announced today that it has been named to The Globe and Mail’s annual ranking of Canada’s top growing companies, as featured in the Report on Business. Playmaker was included on the 2023 list based on its significant revenue and EBITDA growth over a three-year period ended December 31, 2022.

Playmaker acquires and integrates profitable digital sports media assets operating in the newly regulating gambling markets across the Americas. To-date, Playmaker has completed 16 acquisitions to form four distinct media and affiliate businesses, each defined by geography and revenue generation. Playmaker’s media businesses include Futbol Sites (Latin America), Yardbarker (US), and The Nation Network (Canada). Playmaker’s affiliate business, Wedge Traffic, has affiliate relationships with numerous sports betting and iGaming partners across the US. Collectively, the Playmaker ecosystem of media and affiliate brands boasts 100 million monthly web users, over 180 million social media followers, and 2 million monthly podcast streams. As at June 30, 2023, Playmaker generated trailing twelve-month pro forma revenue and aEBITDA of US$56.9M and US$15.1M, respectively, and a three-year pro forma organic revenue CAGR of 61%.

Playmaker was founded in Toronto, Canada in January 2021 by CEO Jordan Gnat and Canadian venture capital firm, Relay Ventures. Playmaker completed a Series A financing round in January 2021, followed by a Go-Public financing prior to its debut on the TSX Venture Exchange via reverse takeover in June 2021. In May 2023, Playmaker was awarded Sports Media Company of the Year by SBC, the global leader in news, media, and events for the gaming and betting industry.
