Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

"liquidity position as disclosed in its September 30, 2026 Form 10-Q"
A Form 10-Q is a detailed report that publicly traded companies are required to file with regulators three times a year, providing an update on their financial health and business activities. It is important for investors because it offers timely insights into a company's performance, helping them make informed decisions about buying or selling stocks. Think of it as a regular check-up report that shows how well a company is doing.
deferred revenue financial
"Deferred revenue | | 27,452"
Cash a company has already received for goods or services it has promised but not yet delivered; it's recorded as a liability because the company still owes that product, service, or future revenue recognition. For investors, deferred revenue signals upcoming work or deliveries that will convert into reported sales over time and affects short-term obligations, cash flow quality, and how quickly a firm can grow recognized revenue—think of it like prepaid subscriptions or gift cards a business must honor later.

"Net cash provided by financing activities"
Warrants are special documents that give you the right to buy a company's stock at a set price before a certain date. They are often used as a way for companies to attract investors or raise money, and their value can increase if the company's stock price goes up.

Third Quarter Financial Results and Key Business Developments

Fee income was $77,041 for the third quarter of 2026 compared with $359,444 in the prior-year quarter. The decrease reflected a nonrecurring government-contract royalty in the comparable 2025 period and disruption of SPD emulsion and film production at Gauzy, partially offset by increased royalties from motorcycle helmet and ski/snow goggle applications.

The net loss for the quarter was $510,304, or $0.01 per share, compared with a net loss of $298,508, or $0.01 per share, in the third quarter of 2025.

At September 30, 2026, cash and cash equivalents were approximately $645,000 ($19,671 lower than at year-end 2025), and working capital was approximately $538,000. The Company has no debt and will discuss on its conference call today its liquidity position as disclosed in its September 30, 2026 Form 10-Q filed today.

In October, Gauzy Ltd., a licensee, strategic investor in the Company, and key participant in the SPD manufacturing supply chain, announced new financing and the restructuring of its liabilities. Gauzy has stated that payments from additional financing and capital resources have begun to support the restart of SPD emulsion production in Israel and SPD film production in Germany. These are steps toward restoring supply of SPD emulsion and film and filling the backlog of existing customer orders in multiple markets.

Research Frontiers and its licensees continue work on automotive, aircraft and other transportation programs, next-generation black SPD technology, and an architectural retrofit system intended to bring dynamic light and heat control to existing glazing. SPD-SmartGlass has also been selected for electronically dimmable windows on two new aircraft models expected to be produced in North America, and was recently unveiled in North America on a new light jet. Separately, the Company continues to engage with prospective commercial customers and suppliers in aircraft, marine and architectural applications.

Management Commentary

“During our August conference call, we discussed the extraordinary disruption caused by the financial situation of Gauzy, a major participant in our supply chain,” said Joseph M. Harary, President and Chief Executive Officer of Research Frontiers. “Since then, important steps have been taken. Gauzy reported that it restructured its debt and other obligations, announced new financing, and made payments to support restarting the production by Gauzy of SPD emulsion in Israel and SPD film in Germany. Those developments matter because reliable production is the link between the technology and the customer programs (existing and developing) that depend on it. Our focus is shifting from managing an interruption in the availability of SPD light-control film, to supporting the return of supply, growth, and moving multiple commercial programs forward.”

“What is particularly encouraging is the breadth of the opportunity,” Harary continued. “SPD technology is already proven in demanding automotive, aircraft, marine and architectural applications. We have been selected for electronically dimmable windows on two new North American aircraft models and the recent unveiling of a third new aircraft using our SPD-Smart technology. We are developing black SPD to offer designers additional choices, and our architectural retrofit initiative is aimed at a substantial installed base of existing buildings, rather than only new construction. We also continue to see interest from manufacturers and project developers across our markets. The strong underlying demand for better light and heat control, and the demonstrated performance and reliability of our SPD-Smart light control technology gives us good reason to be enthusiastic about the work ahead.”

During today’s investor conference call, management expects to discuss the Gauzy developments, the status of the SPD supply chain, commercial programs, product development, liquidity and other matters.

AI-generated questions and answers. How Rhea-AI works. Not financial advice.

What were Research Frontiers’ third-quarter 2026 financial results?

Research Frontiers reported $77,041 in fee income and a $510,304 net loss for the third quarter of 2026. A year earlier, fee income was $359,444 and net loss was $298,508. Basic and diluted loss per share remained $0.01.

What is the status of Research Frontiers’ SPD production supply?

Gauzy reported that payments from additional financing and capital resources had begun supporting the restart of SPD emulsion production in Israel and film production in Germany. These steps are directed toward restoring material supply and filling existing customer order backlogs across multiple markets.

Why did Research Frontiers’ third-quarter 2026 fee income decline?

The decline reflected a nonrecurring government-contract royalty in the comparable 2025 quarter and disruption of SPD emulsion and film production at Gauzy. Increased royalties from motorcycle helmet and ski/snow goggle applications partially offset those effects.
