Key Terms

erp technical
ERP, or Enterprise Resource Planning, is a comprehensive software system that helps organizations manage and integrate core business processes such as finance, supply chain, and human resources in one unified platform. For investors, ERP systems can indicate how efficiently a company operates; strong and well-integrated systems often suggest good management and potential for sustainable growth.
ai technical
Artificial intelligence (AI) is technology that enables machines to mimic human thinking and learning, allowing them to analyze information, recognize patterns, and make decisions. For investors, AI matters because it can improve how businesses operate, create new products, or identify opportunities faster and more accurately than humans alone, potentially impacting company success and market trends.
enterprise architecture technical
Enterprise architecture is a high-level blueprint showing how an organization’s technology, data, processes and people fit together to achieve its goals — like a city master plan mapping roads, utilities and zoning so everything works in sync. Investors care because it affects how efficiently a business can scale, control costs, manage risk and launch new products; a clear, well-executed architecture reduces wasted spending and execution uncertainty, making future performance easier to judge.
cybersecurity technical
Cybersecurity involves protecting computers, networks, and digital information from theft, damage, or unauthorized access. It is essential for safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining trust in digital systems, which matters to investors because strong cybersecurity reduces the risk of costly breaches and disruptions that can impact a company’s performance and reputation. Think of it as locking and safeguarding valuable information much like securing a safe to prevent theft.
cloud technical
A cloud is a network of remote computers and storage that companies rent over the internet instead of owning and running it themselves, like using a shared utility or leased warehouse for computing and data. Investors care because cloud services can lower upfront costs, allow faster growth or scale back during slow times, create steady subscription revenue, and concentrate operational or security risks that affect profitability and valuation.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- RGP (Nasdaq: RGP), a global professional services firm, today announced the appointment of Luke Barnett as Technology Strategy and Enablement Practice Leader within its Consulting Services Segment. The appointment reflects RGP's continued investment in delivering the strategic expertise and hands-on execution that enterprise leaders need to turn large-scale technology transformation into measurable business results.

CFOs and CIOs are navigating one of the most demanding technology environments in recent memory. RGP’s research shows that many large-scale transformation initiatives fail to meet their objectives, not for lack of investment, but because of foundational readiness and execution discipline.

As organizations race to modernize ERP systems, harness AI, and govern increasingly complex technology and data ecosystems, the gap between objective and outcome has never been more costly. RGP's Technology Strategy and Enablement Practice exists to close that gap by bringing together strategic vision and disciplined execution across systems, data, and operations.

"We are at an inflection point in how enterprises consume and deploy technology," said Scott Rottmann, President of Consulting Services at RGP. "The firms that will win are those that can address challenges without losing momentum. Luke knows what it takes to lead a global technology organization through real transformation, not just design it from the outside."

In his new role, Barnett will help clients define and execute technology strategies that align platforms, data, and cloud investments with business priorities. He will expand RGP’s reach with CFOs and CIOs navigating ERP modernization, AI and data transformation, and risk and governance, while building a practice that brings together senior advisory, enterprise architecture, and hands-on execution to turn strategy into scalable, lasting outcomes.

"The pace of change is enormous," said Barnett. "Organizations are navigating AI adoption alongside the critical work of modernizing systems, reducing data silos, and improving data quality while continuing to operate technology securely and effectively. What excites me about this role is the opportunity to help leaders embrace these challenges, address what's holding them back, and build something that fundamentally changes how their organization operates and competes."

Barnett brings over two decades of experience leading large-scale transformation and leveraging emerging technologies to optimize operations across software development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. He joined RGP through the firm's 2024 acquisition of consulting firm Reference Point, where he served as Partner in the Technology and Data Services practice. Prior to that, he held the roles of Head of Special Integration Projects and CIO at global brokerage firm TP ICAP and previously served in several senior leadership positions at Tullett Prebon PLC — including Global CTO, CIO of the Americas, and Head of IT for Asia. He began his career as a consultant at Accenture.
