global reporting initiative (gri) standards regulatory
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards are a set of widely used guidelines that tell organizations how to disclose their environmental, social and governance impacts in a consistent way. For investors, they act like a common recipe or blueprint that makes it easier to compare companies’ non-financial risks and performance—such as carbon emissions, labor practices or board oversight—so investment decisions can account for long-term sustainability and related financial risks.
sustainability accounting standards board (sasb) standards regulatory
A set of industry-specific disclosure rules created by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board that tell companies which environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics are likely to affect financial performance and should be reported to investors. They work like a standardized checklist or recipe so investors can compare sustainability-related risks and opportunities across companies in the same industry, improving transparency about issues that can influence cash flow, costs, or reputation.
net-zero emissions technical
Net-zero emissions means a company, government or product cancels out the greenhouse gases it releases by cutting emissions and removing the rest from the atmosphere, so overall contribution to warming is zero. Think of it like balancing a checkbook: any emissions that can’t be eliminated are offset by measures that remove an equal amount. Investors care because net-zero plans affect future costs, regulatory and reputation risk, access to capital, and the long-term value of assets.

WILDLIGHT, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rayonier Inc. (NYSE:RYN) today released its 2025 Corporate Responsibility Report. The report highlights the company’s progress across four corporate responsibility pillars: Forests, Planet, People, and Practices. These pillars focus on managing forests sustainably, minimizing environmental impacts, focusing on Team Members and safety, and prioritizing strong governance practices.

“At Rayonier, sustainability and corporate responsibility are ingrained in everything we do,” said Mark McHugh, President and Chief Executive Officer. “For over a century, we’ve demonstrated that working forests can deliver durable financial returns while sequestering carbon, safeguarding water and wildlife, and supporting the rural communities where we operate. I’m proud of how our teams embed responsible stewardship into our everyday decisions as we work to deliver land to its highest value use. As stewards of these landscapes, we recognize that the choices we make today shape the forests, climate, and communities of generations to come.”

Rayonier’s 2025 Corporate Responsibility Report was developed with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and in alignment with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards and the recommendations outlined by the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

“We remain a proud signatory to the Climate Pledge, a growing community of over 700 companies focused on achieving net-zero emissions by 2040,” said Anna Torma, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer. “This year’s report — our first following our merger-of-equals with PotlatchDeltic — provides transparency on carbon impacts across our value chain, nature-related initiatives, and climate risks and opportunities for the combined company.”

The 2025 Corporate Responsibility Report can be found on the Company’s Corporate Responsibility web page.
