Safran Defense & Space (OTC:SAFRY) has secured a contract to provide two EPS®X00 electric propulsion systems for AstroForge's Vestri asteroid mission, set to launch in early 2026. The systems will support AstroForge's mission to analyze and potentially mine valuable platinum group metals from asteroids.
Each system includes a PPS®X00 thruster, Power Processing Unit, and Fluid Management System. The selection came after AstroForge witnessed a successful test firing at Safran's Normandy facility.
