Sinopec has received an airworthiness certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China for its bio-jet fuel derived from used cooking oil. This certification, obtained on September 19, 2022, allows Sinopec Zhenhai Refinery to sell this fuel to aviation operators across China, marking a significant milestone in the country's sustainable aviation fuel industry. The refinery has the capacity to produce 100,000 tons annually and aims to reduce carbon emissions by up to 50% compared to traditional aviation fuel.
