ATLANTA, Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Georgia Power has partnered with Georgia Historical Society (GHS) and Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) to refresh and relaunch the Emmy award-winning series "Today in Georgia History." Originally introduced in 2011, the 365 episodes are set to return to GPB in August 2025 highlight a person or historical event associated with each day of the year. This relaunch aligns with the start of the new school year and the 250th anniversary of the United States. In 1927, Georgia Power President Preston Arkwright coined the phrase, "A Citizen Wherever We Serve." Since then, the company, through the Georgia Power Foundation, has supported educational initiatives to enhance student resources across Georgia.
