cloud-native technical
Cloud-native describes a way of creating and running applications that are designed specifically to operate smoothly on cloud computing platforms. Think of it as building a house with flexible, lightweight materials that can be easily moved, scaled, or adjusted as needed, rather than using rigid, traditional construction. For investors, it signifies technology that is more adaptable, efficient, and capable of quickly responding to changing market demands.
order and execution management system financial
An order and execution management system is software that organizes, routes and tracks buy or sell instructions for securities from the moment an investor decides to trade until the trade is completed. Think of it as a traffic control and delivery dispatcher for trades: it helps get orders to the right market quickly, monitors execution quality and manages risks and rules. Investors care because faster, more reliable execution can lower costs, reduce missed opportunities and improve the chances of getting the best available price.
managed accounts financial
Managed accounts are collections of investments owned by an individual or institution but run day-to-day by a professional who buys, sells and allocates assets according to an agreed plan. They matter to investors because they provide tailored oversight, active risk control and potential tax efficiency—like hiring a personal chef to manage your diet—while fees and the manager’s skill directly affect returns.
pooled funds financial
A pooled fund collects money from many investors into a single investment pot that is managed collectively, similar to friends pooling cash for a group purchase. It matters because pooling lets individuals access a diversified mix of investments and professional management at lower cost and with greater buying power than most could achieve alone, while also concentrating risk and creating ongoing fees and shared control over investment choices.
workflows technical
Workflows are the planned sequence of steps, tasks and approvals that move a job from start to finish inside an organization, involving people, systems and tools—think of it like a recipe or an assembly line that ensures actions happen in the right order. Investors care about workflows because clear, efficient processes reduce mistakes, speed delivery, lower costs and make growth easier to scale, so strong workflows often signal better operational performance and steadier future earnings.
embedded ai technical
Embedded AI is artificial intelligence built directly into a device, machine, or software rather than running only in the cloud; think of it as a small “brain” inside a product that can make decisions, recognize patterns, or automate tasks on its own. For investors, embedded AI can change a company’s competitive edge, cost structure and recurring revenue potential by enabling smarter products, lower latency and improved privacy, while also introducing hardware, software and regulatory risks.

WINDSOR, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSNC) today announced that Commerce Trust has gone live on SS&C Advent’s Genesis platform. The wealth and trust services division of Commerce Bank manages and administers over $82 billion in assets.1

Commerce Trust is leveraging multiple SS&C Advent capabilities on the Genesis platform, including portfolio management, trading, and compliance across equity and fixed income portfolios. By operating these functions on a single, cloud-native data platform, the firm gains a more consistent, connected view of its investment activities and greater efficiency across teams.

At the core of the decision for Commerce Trust was a need to move away from fragmented systems and toward a more unified operating model. The cloud-native platform consolidates data into a single source of truth and orchestrates workflows across the investment operation.

“Genesis has given us a modern, end-to-end data foundation that supports our operational needs today and positions us for future growth,” said Paul Zietlow, Chief Operating Officer at Commerce Trust. “Having portfolio information connected in one place enables us to operate more efficiently and make better-informed decisions for our clients.”

The Commerce Trust go-live builds on strong momentum for Genesis, with more than 30 firms live or in implementation since introducing its data platform architecture in 2024. This adoption reflects a broader shift as investment managers and asset owners look to reduce complexity across their operations. SS&C responded to this shift by bringing its investment management technologies together, such as the Eze order and execution management system, under the SS&C Advent organization. Genesis is a direct result of meeting this market shift.

“Firms are looking to simplify operations and get more value from their data,” said Karen Geiger, Co-Head of Wealth & Investment Technologies at SS&C. “The successful go-live at Commerce Trust, together with continued client adoption, further establishes Genesis as a foundation for firms modernizing operations and putting their data to work.”

Genesis is purpose-built for investment and wealth firms overseeing managed accounts and pooled funds in complex, data-intensive environments. The solution consolidates data and supports connected workflows across portfolio management, accounting, risk, reporting, and analytics on a single platform and data model. With a phased approach to adoption, firms can modernize their operations while preserving data integrity, flexibility, and cross-team collaboration. SS&C is continuing to expand Genesis with embedded AI capabilities to enhance automation and workflows, deliver deeper insights, and enable more intuitive interaction with data over time.
