pah medical
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a chronic condition in which the small blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs become narrowed or stiff, raising pressure and forcing the heart to work harder—like trying to squeeze water through a narrowed garden hose. It matters to investors because drug development, clinical trial outcomes, regulatory approvals and pricing decisions for PAH therapies can create significant revenue opportunities or financial risks for biotech and pharmaceutical companies operating in this therapeutic area.
ipf medical
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung disease where scar tissue builds up in the lungs for reasons doctors don't fully understand, making it harder to breathe over time. For investors, IPF matters because it represents a clear medical need and a regulated market for treatments, so progress in clinical trials, regulatory approvals, or new therapies can materially affect the value of companies working on drugs or devices for this condition—much like a new road that could open access to a previously hard-to-reach town.
ph-ild medical
PH-ILD stands for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease, a condition where stiff or scarred lung tissue makes it harder to move oxygen into the blood and causes dangerously high blood pressure in the lung arteries. Investors care because it signals a serious, progressive illness with limited treatment options, shaping demand for therapies, clinical trial design, regulatory review and long-term revenue potential in respiratory and cardiovascular drug markets.
new drug application regulatory
A new drug application is a formal request submitted to government regulators seeking approval to market a new medicine. It is like a detailed proposal that shows the drug has been tested for safety and effectiveness. For investors, receiving approval signals that the drug may soon become available for sale, potentially leading to revenue growth and impacting the company's value.

ADVANCE OUTCOMES presentations include an analysis showing that ralinepag achieved clinical improvement in a lower risk pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) population and reduced clinical worsening in PAH patients with connective tissue disease, in which underlying vascular remodeling and endothelial dysfunction may be accelerated, making PAH more difficult to treat

TETON presentations include analyses showing that nebulized treprostinil improved lung function, demonstrated a consistent benefit in reducing serious clinical worsening events, and showed a dose-dependent magnitude of benefit compared to placebo in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients

Additional presentations feature interim data from the ARTISAN study of parenteral treprostinil in PAH patients and preliminary data from PHINDER, a first of its kind study designed to improve screening for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD)

SILVER SPRING, Md. & RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq: UTHR), a public benefit corporation, today announced that four oral presentations and four poster presentations will be presented across its commercial and development portfolio at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026, August 28-31 in Munich, and at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2026, September 5-9 in Barcelona.

The presentations include late-breaking analyses from the phase 3 ADVANCE OUTCOMES study of investigational ralinepag in PAH, the phase 3 TETON clinical program evaluating nebulized treprostinil in IPF, and the ARTISAN study evaluating parenteral treprostinil in PAH, as well as preliminary data from the PHINDER study in PH-ILD.

“This year at ERS and ESC, we are presenting data that reflect the breadth of our work to deepen our understanding of how appropriate treatment may improve outcomes for people living with life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, and IPF. We remain committed to generating meaningful evidence across both established and investigational therapies to help advance the standard of care for these patient populations,” said Franck Rahaghi, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, United Therapeutics.
