Veracyte (Nasdaq: VCYT) announced six studies involving its genomic tests will be presented at ESMO 2026, October 23–27 in Madrid.

The presentations cover prostate and bladder cancer treatment selection and risk assessment, plus breast cancer health economics. Veracyte said a Decipher Prostate oral presentation will provide the first evidence that the test predicts benefit from adding abiraterone to androgen deprivation therapy for clinically very high-risk, nonmetastatic prostate cancer. A separate late-breaking oral presentation will report a two-year, within-trial economic analysis of Prosigna-guided chemotherapy decisions in the Phase III OPTIMA breast cancer trial. Four posters address additional prostate and bladder cancer research.

4 terms
androgen deprivation therapy medical
"adding abiraterone to androgen deprivation therapy"
Androgen deprivation therapy is a medical treatment that lowers or blocks male hormones (androgens) to slow the growth of hormone-sensitive cancers, most commonly prostate cancer. Think of it as cutting off the fuel a fire needs so the blaze slows; for investors, changes in ADT use, new ADT drugs, or clinical trial results can affect demand for medications, device procedures, safety profiles and long-term revenue for healthcare companies.
transcriptome classifier medical
"Transcriptome classifier risk stratification"
A transcriptome classifier is a diagnostic or research tool that uses patterns of gene expression across all or many RNA transcripts in a biological sample to assign that sample to a category (for example, a disease subtype, tissue type, or risk group). It is built by training statistical or machine‑learning models on labeled gene‑expression data so the classifier learns which combinations of RNA levels distinguish the categories; its performance depends on the quality of the training data, the platform used to measure RNA, and independent validation or regulatory clearance if intended for clinical use.
androgen receptor pathway inhibitors medical
"intensification with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors"
Drugs that block signals sent through the androgen receptor, a cellular “antenna” that many tumors—most notably prostate cancers—use to grow and survive. By cutting off that fuel line, these medicines can slow or shrink tumors; for investors, trial results, regulatory approvals, safety data and patent position for such drugs can sharply change a biotech or drugmaker’s value, similar to how a single new engine can transform a vehicle’s performance.
urothelial carcinoma medical
"Age at Diagnosis as an Independent Prognostic Factor in Urothelial Carcinoma"
Urothelial carcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in the urothelial cells lining the bladder and other parts of the urinary tract; imagine the inner lining of a pipe developing patches of damage that grow into invasive tissue. It matters to investors because its prevalence, available treatments, and clinical trial outcomes drive demand for new drugs, influence regulatory approvals and reimbursement decisions, and can materially affect the revenue and valuation of companies developing therapies.

Oral presentations include new Decipher treatment-selection evidence and an OPTIMA breast cancer health economic analysis

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veracyte, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCYT), a leading cancer diagnostics company, today announced that six studies involving its genomic tests will be presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026, taking place October 23-27 in Madrid, Spain. The presentations span treatment selection and risk assessment in prostate and bladder cancer, as well as a late-breaking health economic analysis from the Phase III landmark OPTIMA breast cancer trial.

A prostate cancer oral presentation will provide the first evidence that the Decipher Prostate test predicts benefit from adding abiraterone to androgen deprivation therapy for patients with clinically very high-risk, nonmetastatic disease. The findings extend Decipher’s predictive evidence into another treatment setting and build on its established role in prostate cancer risk stratification and treatment benefit. A separate oral presentation will report a within-trial economic analysis of Prosigna-guided chemotherapy decisions in OPTIMA.

“The research being presented at ESMO reflects how understanding a tumor’s biology can inform decisions across cancer care,” said Phillip Febbo, M.D., Veracyte’s chief scientific and medical officer. “The Decipher Prostate study will provide the first evidence that the test predicts benefit from adding abiraterone to treatment for patients with clinically very high-risk disease. Alongside the OPTIMA economic analysis and new bladder cancer research, these studies address questions that matter to patients and clinicians.”
