The fund complements the existing VanEck MSCI EAFE Analyst Sentiment ETF (VEFA), extending this approach from developed to emerging markets.
VEEM tracks the MSCI EM Analyst Sentiment Select Index, which applies a rules-based process that overweights companies with improving analyst outlooks. The analyst sentiment signal equally weights five revision categories: earnings per share, sales, cash flow, price targets and buy/sell recommendations. Stocks are scored using standardized indicators derived from revisions in these categories, and the optimized index selects 100 stocks, subject to sector, country and security constraints aiming to cap ex-ante tracking error at 4% versus the MSCI Emerging Markets Index. The index rebalances quarterly in line with MSCI’s standard review calendar.
