Vishay Intertechnology announced that its 5 W AC and AC-AT series cemented, axial-leaded wirewound resistors now feature a pick and place friendly SMD lead bending option called the WSZ lead form. This new feature allows the resistors to be used as surface-mount components, enhancing assembly efficiency and reducing costs. These resistors are ideal for automotive and industrial electronics, energy meters, and white goods power supplies, offering peak power up to 5 kW for a 1 μs pulse load and a resistance range from 0.10 Ω to 10 kΩ. The AC05 WSZ and AC05-AT WSZ resistors are also AEC-Q200 qualified and available in a non-inductive version for fast-switching circuits. They operate over a wide temperature range of -55 °C to +250 °C and feature a non-flammable silicone cement coating. RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, these resistors come with tin-plated terminations for compatibility with various soldering processes. Samples and production quantities are available with a lead time of 12 weeks.

On May 22, 2024, Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) announced the release of eight new AEC-Q102 qualified high-power IR emitters for automotive applications. With 850 nm and 940 nm devices, these emitters deliver a 10% higher radiant intensity in a 20% smaller footprint compared to their closest competitors. Built on Vishay’s Astral surface emitter chip technology, the devices support high drive currents up to 1.5 A DC and 5 A pulsed, offering radiant intensities up to 6000 mW/sr.

Vishay Intertechnology introduces a new series of space-grade planar transformers for power conversion applications, offering lower cost, smaller size, and higher density than traditional devices. Customizable to meet design-specific requirements, the transformers are qualified to MIL-STD-981 class S standard. The devices operate over a frequency range from 80 kHz to 300 kHz, providing high dielectric withstand voltage, power of 150 W, and leakage inductance of 0.5 µH.
