New Impact Report highlights nearly $160 million invested in communities since Foundation’s founding

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Xcel Energy Foundation today announced it has invested nearly $160 million over the past quarter of a century to strengthen communities, according to a new Impact Report commemorating the Foundation’s 25^th anniversary.

Since the Foundation’s establishment in 2001, Xcel Energy and the Xcel Energy Foundation have supported communities in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. The investments include more than $82.8 million in grant funding to local nonprofit organizations and $73.6 million in contributions from Xcel Energy employees and retirees through gift matching and volunteer-driven giving programs.

“As we celebrate the Foundation’s 25^th anniversary, this report reflects the incredible impact Xcel Energy and employees made hand-in-hand with our nonprofit partners and communities,” said Patricia Correa, senior vice president, human resources and employee services, and chief human resources officer. “The report honors the work that has shaped our communities for 25 years and our commitment to furthering this impact for decades to come.”

The report highlights the Foundation’s investments to support nonprofit organizations and programs aligned with three core focus areas: community vitality, environmental sustainability and STEM career pathways. In 2025 alone, the Foundation awarded nearly $5 million to 384 nonprofit organizations through its Energizing the Future focus area grant program.

Additional 2025 highlights include:

• Nearly $13.5 million contributed across the eight states the company serves
• More than 96,000 hours of employee volunteer paid time off contributed to nearly 1,000 nonprofit organizations
• 2,389 job placements in STEM careers
• More than 26,000 trees planted and more than 18,000 tons of carbon emissions offset through Xcel Energy environmental sustainability initiatives
• $5.5 million invested in communities through the company’s annual Power Your Purpose giving campaign and Foundation contribution match
• Nearly 3,000 employees and customers participated in the company’s annual Day of Service, volunteering about 8,900 hours at nonprofit projects across the region

The report also spotlights nonprofit partner organizations that are making a meaningful difference across the region, including Children’s Theatre Company in Minnesota, The Park People in Colorado, Amarillo College Foundation in Texas, Casakids in New Mexico, North Dakota State University Foundation in North Dakota, Gogebic Community College Foundation in Michigan and Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix and Namekagon in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
