Track explosive stock movements as they happen. Argus is a professional-grade momentum scanner that monitors market activity and correlates price movements with breaking news in real-time. While others search for explanations after a stock has moved 50%, you'll have instant access to both the price action and news catalysts.
Argus monitors thousands of stocks simultaneously, alerting you when price action accelerates beyond normal ranges. More importantly, it answers the critical question: "Why is this stock moving?". By automatically correlating price movements with news and market events, Argus provides comprehensive data for your analysis.
Operating across all trading sessions, Argus tracks significant movements from pre-market through after-hours. Whether it's a biotech reacting to FDA news or unusual volume patterns, you'll see the data as it develops. Active traders rely on Argus to monitor momentum and stay informed about rapid market changes. This tool provides market data only and does not constitute financial advice.

Toggle these badges on or off to control which scores appear in the news column.
Filter by stock movement. Select 'Gainers' to view rising stocks or 'Losers' for declining stocks. Define minimum and maximum price change percentages to refine your search based on movement magnitude.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Use this filter to determine if you want to see stocks going up or stocks going down.
Filter stocks by alert count from this session or today. Enable filters below to set specific ranges for each time period.
Highly Restrictive: Using both today and session filters simultaneously may severely limit results. Consider using only one filter for better coverage.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Filters by how many times a symbol triggered the scanner.
Session Alerts: Total alerts triggered for each stock since your current session began.
Today Alerts: Total alerts triggered for each stock since market open today.
Enable the checkboxes to reveal min/max range inputs for each time period.
Specify a stock price range to narrow results. Input a minimum and maximum price to focus on stocks within your preferred price bracket, ideal for finding specific segments like penny stocks.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Limits results to stocks within a selected price range.
Enter a minimum price, a maximum price, or both. The feed will only display rows whose price falls inside the range.
Useful for isolating brackets such as penny stocks (under $5), mid priced equities, or higher priced equities.
Set a range for market capitalization to find companies of a certain size. This filter helps you focus on stocks with specific market values, ranging from small to large-cap companies.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Limits results by market capitalization, the total market value of a company's outstanding shares.
Enter minimum and maximum values in millions of dollars to focus on a market cap segment, such as micro cap, small cap, mid cap, or large cap.
Define a range for stock float, the number of shares available for public trading. Float values are expressed in millions.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Limits results by float, the number of shares available for public trading.
Set a minimum float, a maximum float, or both. Values are expressed in millions.
Filter by Volume, in shares traded or in the money those shares are worth, or relative to monthly average, and 5-minute delta (price change % and volume relative to the stock's typical 5-minute volume in the last 5 min). Set min/max values.
Gold or Platinum Membership Required
Set ranges for volume, relative volume (compared to monthly average), 5-minute price change (%), and 5-minute relative volume (compared to the stock's typical 5-minute volume).
Volume reads in the unit you pick: shares traded today, or Traded $, the money those shares are worth at the current price. One unit applies at a time, so switching clears the range you are leaving.
Rel.Vol M looks at the volume traded so far today against what the stock typically trades by the same time of day, while 5min RVol looks only at the last 5 minutes against its typical 5 minutes, so a stock can read quiet on one and busy on the other. The 5 minute delta fields filter by recent price and volume changes.

Momentum trading is a strategy where traders observe stocks that are experiencing significant price movement in one direction. The concept involves monitoring trends in the market, though outcomes are never guaranteed and all trading carries risk. This educational overview is for informational purposes only.
Momentum traders typically observe stocks moving significantly on high volume. The strategy involves monitoring price movements and market trends. Common components that traders may consider include:
A stock scanner is a data aggregation tool that displays information about momentum stocks experiencing price movements in the market. These tools compile market data and present it according to specified parameters, providing information only without recommendations or advice.
Stock scanners display market data about top momentum stocks today and price movements. They DO NOT:
Argus is a sophisticated market data tool that displays real-time information about stocks experiencing significant price movements. The scanner identifies momentum stocks and correlates price changes with publicly available news, helping users stay informed about market activity across all trading sessions.
While traditional scanners overwhelm you with dozens of technical indicators, Argus takes a radically simple approach. We focus exclusively on what actually matters: significant price movements.
Here's our philosophy: We track stocks that move beyond 4% from their opening price. Once a stock crosses this threshold, we continue alerting you as it reaches new highs (for rising stocks) or new lows (for declining stocks). This means rising stocks trigger alerts at each new high point of the day, while falling stocks trigger alerts at each new low point.
This approach cuts through the noise. While other scanners might show you volume spikes or RSI readings that lead nowhere, Argus shows you what's actually moving and why. Every alert represents real momentum in a clear direction.
| Feature | Argus Scanner | Traditional Scanners |
|---|---|---|
| Data Focus | Simple: 4%+ movements with new highs/lows | Complex: Multiple technical indicators |
| Market Coverage | All sessions: Premarket, Regular, After Hours | Often regular hours only |
| News Display | Integrated with price movements | Usually separate or unavailable |
| Alert Logic | Continuous: New highs for gainers, new lows for losers | One time indicator triggers |
| Learning Curve | Minimal: Focus on price action | Steep: Multiple indicators to understand |
| Primary Function | Display momentum stocks with clear direction | Various analytical approaches |
Argus provides comprehensive data coverage across all trading sessions. Understanding when different sessions operate helps users know when data becomes available.
The scanner begins displaying top premarket gainers and decliners at 4:00 AM ET. Information shown includes:
During regular hours, Argus displays top momentum stocks today with full market data:
The scanner tracks after hour market movers including:
Various market participants use trading scanners to stay informed about market movements. Here are common user categories and how they utilize scanner data:
Those actively engaged in markets use scanners to:

Argus offers different data access levels to suit various needs. Note that data speed and features do not affect or predict trading outcomes.
Start with basic market monitoring capabilities:
Mid-tier access for regular market watchers:
Premium data access for active traders:
Argus displays stocks moving 4% or more from their opening price. For rising stocks, it continues alerting at each new high for the day. For falling stocks, it alerts at each new low for the day. This directional tracking helps identify sustained momentum.
In market terminology, momentum stocks refers to securities experiencing significant price movement with above average volume. These are stocks showing strong directional movement, either up or down.
Argus begins displaying top premarket gainers data at 4:00 AM ET when premarket trading opens. This data continues updating until regular market hours begin at 9:30 AM ET.
Yes, Argus tracks after hour market movers from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET, displaying stocks that continue moving after regular market close.
Once a stock clears the 4% threshold, Argus alerts again each time it pushes beyond the highest price (for gainers) or lowest price (for losers) it has already recorded that day. The alert counters reset at each session boundary, but that recorded high or low carries across sessions, so a stock that already ran in premarket only alerts again in regular hours once it trades beyond its premarket high.
Argus alerts on new highs for the day, not on every bounce off an intraday low. If a stock already set its high earlier (often in premarket), a later climb back toward that level will not alert until it actually trades above the prior high. So an alert can look "late" when the real move happened earlier in the day and Argus alerted it then.
The Top Gainers and Top Losers lists are ordered purely by the size of the percentage move. The live alert feed is ordered by time, with the newest alert at the top. Filters change which stocks qualify to appear, but they do not re-rank the list.
Gold/Platinum members receive real-time data updates with no delay. Silver members see data with 1 minute delay. Free members see data with 15 minute delay. Higher tiers also offer more frequent alerts, additional filtering options, and ad-free experience.
No. Argus displays current and historical data only. It does not predict future movements or provide trading recommendations.
Argus operates through automated data collection and display:
