Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Aurora Cannabis Inc. completed the expansion of its Leuna, Germany, facility, now renamed Aurora Horizon. Aurora says cultivation capacity has increased and annual flower output is expected to more than double. The newly built areas recently received an expanded EU-GMP license from the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Health of Saxony-Anhalt.

Aurora says the site has adopted cultivation and post-harvest practices from its Canadian operations and proprietary genetics from Aurora Coast, its global R&D facility in British Columbia. The added capacity is expected to help meet growing demand for medical cannabis in Germany and other European markets. Aurora also says the facility will support local job creation and describes itself as one of only three in-country producers in Germany.

Expected annual flower output More than 2× Aurora Horizon facility
In-country producers in Germany 3 producers Aurora says it is one of only three
EU-GMP license regulatory
"expanded EU-GMP license for the newly built areas"
post-harvest technical
"lighting, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest processes"
Post-harvest describes all activities that happen to crops or food products after they are picked, such as cleaning, drying, cooling, storing, packaging and basic processing. It matters to investors because how well these steps are handled affects how much of a harvest reaches the market in good condition, the speed and cost of getting products to buyers, and the potential price and profit—similar to how proper care after picking fruit keeps more of it sellable and valuable.
proprietary genetics technical
"adopted Aurora's leading proprietary genetics"
forward-looking information regulatory
"certain "forward-looking information" within the meaning"
Forward-looking information are predictions, plans, estimates or expectations about a company’s future performance, results or events, such as sales forecasts, project timelines, or anticipated costs. It matters to investors because these statements guide expectations but rely on assumptions and uncertain factors—like a weather forecast for a business—so investors should treat them as informed guesses rather than guarantees and consider the risks and possible changes behind the numbers.

NASDAQ | TSX: ACB

•Multi-million-dollar investment results in increased domestic production capacity in Germany, more than doubling expected annual flower output.
•Enhanced facility adopts Aurora's proven cultivation practices and proprietary genetics to support consistent, high-quality production.
•Expanded EU-GMP manufacturing capacity reinforces Aurora's ability to deliver compliant, high-quality products across European markets as demand increases.

EDMONTON, AB, Oct. 8, 2026 /CNW/ - Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB) (NASDAQ: ACB), the leading Canadian-based global medical cannabis company, today announced the completion of a major expansion of its facility in Leuna, Germany. The expansion project establishes the Leuna facility as a manufacturing site of excellence, incorporating proven cultivation and post-harvest practices from Aurora's Canadian operations alongside the company's proprietary genetics and product catalogue. The expanded facility has increased cultivation capacity while improving product quality, consistency and operational efficiency, strengthening the facility's role in serving Aurora's growth in Europe.

Aurora Completes Major Expansion of European EU-GMP Manufacturing Facility, More Than Doubling Expected Annual Flower Output.

To commemorate the site's transformation and expanded role in Aurora's global EU-GMP manufacturing network, the facility has been renamed Aurora Horizon, a name selected by the local team, reflective of their pride and optimism for the facility's future.

"The completion of our Leuna facility transformation is an important milestone for Aurora and reinforces our commitment to serving patients in our fastest-growing markets, including Germany, where we are proud to be a domestic manufacturer," said Alex Miller, EVP, Operations and Supply Chain at Aurora. "Now known as Aurora Horizon, the EU GMP-licensed facility strengthens our ability to serve patients in Germany, while advancing our broader European growth strategy. By bringing Aurora's proven cultivation and operational expertise and industry-leading genetics to Leuna, we have significantly advanced the site and our ability to drive growth in the region."

The expanded facility has recently been granted an expanded EU-GMP license for the newly built areas of the site, issued by the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Health of Saxony-Anhalt, and will support dynamic job creation within the local vicinity.

The transformation of Aurora Horizon involved implementing the company's world-class cultivation practices and methodologies, including lighting, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest processes, to ensure consistent and high-quality output. Aurora Horizon has successfully adopted Aurora's leading proprietary genetics from the company's global R&D facility, Aurora Coast in British Columbia, Canada. As a result, the facility is already meeting the high-performance thresholds of other sites within Aurora's network. The additional capacity is expected to help Aurora meet growing demand for high-quality medical cannabis in Germany and across European markets, while improving supply chain resilience and operational efficiency. As one of only three in country producers, we are uniquely positioned to continue to contribute with cultivation and manufacturing job creation in the Saxony-Anhalt region.
