normal course issuer bid financial
"ATS also announced that it has purchased its common shares under its previously disclosed normal course issuer bid"
A Normal Course Issuer Bid is when a company buys back its own shares from the stock market over time. This usually shows that the company believes its stock is undervalued and wants to support its price, which can be important for investors to watch.
block purchases financial
"including through block purchases, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements"
A block purchase is a large, privately negotiated trade of shares or bonds executed between institutions or big investors outside the regular public market. Think of it like buying a pallet of goods at once instead of individual items; it lets buyers and sellers move big positions with less public price disruption, but it can still signal shifting ownership and affect market liquidity and investor perceptions of demand for the security.
capital allocation strategy financial
"The NCIB is viewed by ATS management as one component of an overall capital allocation strategy"
A capital allocation strategy is a plan for deciding how a company distributes its financial resources among various needs, such as investing in growth, paying dividends, or reducing debt. For investors, it signals how effectively a company manages its money to create value and sustain long-term success, much like a person deciding how to divide their budget for savings, expenses, and investments.
