Insights

Boise Cascade discloses an orderly CEO succession with defined timing and compensation.

Boise Cascade is implementing a structured leadership transition, with current CEO Nate Jorgensen retiring from the CEO role effective March 2, 2026, while continuing to serve on the Board of Directors. This helps maintain strategic continuity and preserves his institutional knowledge at the board level.

The Board has already elected internal executive Jeff Strom as the next CEO, effective March 3, 2026. Strom’s progression from regional leadership to Executive Vice President, then COO in January 2025, indicates familiarity with the core Building Materials Distribution business. His approved CEO compensation package, with a $975,000 annual base salary and a short-term incentive target of 120%, aligns his pay structure with performance-based incentives as he steps into the top role.
