Rhea-AI Filing Summary

CytomX Therapeutics, Inc. ended Q3 2026 with $348.0 million in cash, cash equivalents and investments and expected cash runway into the second half of 2028. Revenue for the three months ended September 30, 2026 was $1.688 million, versus $5.963 million a year earlier; net loss attributable to common stockholders was $19.998 million, versus $14.229 million. Revenue declined primarily because CytomX completed its performance obligation in the Astellas collaboration in Q2 2026. Operating expenses were $25.190 million, compared with $21.731 million.

Varsetatug masetecan (Varseta-M) received FDA Fast Track designation for relapsed/refractory metastatic colorectal cancer. A Phase 1 monotherapy data update is expected in January 2027; a Phase 1/2 combination study with bevacizumab, 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin in second-line disease is planned to start by the end of 2026. Bevacizumab combination testing and Varseta-M expansion cohorts in gastric/GEJ, EpCAM-selected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and biliary tract cancer are underway. CX-801 Phase 1 studies in advanced melanoma continue enrolling; initial combination data with pembrolizumab are expected in the first half of 2027.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Fast Track designation regulatory
"FDA Fast Track designation for relapsed/refractory metastatic colorectal cancer"
Fast track designation is a status the U.S. Food and Drug Administration grants to drugs intended to treat serious conditions and address an unmet medical need. It gives the developer more frequent communication with the FDA and can allow parts of the application to be reviewed on a rolling basis, and it may pave the way to priority review or accelerated approval. It can shorten development timelines, though it does not guarantee approval.
registrational study regulatory
"potential to initiate first registrational study for Varseta-M monotherapy"
A registrational study is a late-stage clinical trial designed to give the government regulators the evidence they need to decide whether a drug, therapy, or medical device can be approved for sale. Think of it as the final exam or road test for a medical product: its results largely determine whether the product can reach the market, which directly affects potential revenue, company valuation, and investor risk.
antibody drug conjugate medical
"EpCAM-directed antibody drug conjugate with a topoisomerase-1 inhibitor payload"
An antibody drug conjugate is a targeted medical treatment that combines a special antibody with a powerful drug, allowing precise delivery of the medicine directly to cancer cells or other harmful cells in the body. For investors, it represents a sophisticated approach to therapy that could improve treatment effectiveness and reduce side effects, potentially leading to significant growth opportunities in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
dose escalation medical
"CX-801 monotherapy dose escalation portion of the study"
Dose escalation is the process of gradually increasing the amount of a treatment or substance over time. In finance, it can refer to slowly raising investments or commitments to manage risk and assess performance. For investors, understanding dose escalation helps gauge how companies or strategies adjust their approaches, which can impact future growth or stability.
Revenue $1.688 million Compared with $5.963 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025.
Net loss attributable to common stockholders $19.998 million Compared with $14.229 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025.
Total operating expenses $25.190 million Compared with $21.731 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025.

Q3 2026 Financial Results:

CytomX ended Q3 2026 with $348.0 million of cash, cash equivalents and investments with expected cash runway into the second half of 2028. Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments totaled $330.3 million as of Q2 2026.

Total revenue was $1.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared to $6.0 million for quarter ended September 30, 2025. The decrease in revenue was driven primarily by the completion of the Company’s performance obligation in the Astellas collaboration which concluded in the second quarter of 2026.

Total operating expense for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 was $25.2 million compared to $21.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, an increase of $3.5 million.

Research and development expenses increased by $1.2 million during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, to $16.5 million compared to $15.3 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025. Research and development expenses increased primarily due to increased personnel related expenses, partially offset by lower Varseta-M spend due to the timing of manufacturing activities.

General and administrative expenses increased by $2.3 million during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, to $8.7 million, compared to $6.4 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025. Increased general and administrative expenses were primarily driven by increased personnel related expenses, consulting expenses and an increase in rent expense during the Company’s transition to its new Emeryville headquarters.
