How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

pre-tax profit margin financial
"resulting in a pre-tax profit margin of 10.8%"
Pre-tax profit margin is the share of each dollar of sales a company keeps as profit before paying taxes, expressed as a percentage. Think of it as the slice of a pie left after covering all operating costs but before the tax bill, which helps investors compare how efficiently different companies turn revenue into profit independent of tax rates or one-time tax items.
cancellation rate financial
"The Company’s cancellation rate"
The cancellation rate is the share of orders, bookings, subscriptions or appointments that are cancelled before they are completed, expressed as a percentage of total commitments. Investors care because a rising cancellation rate is like many diners calling off reservations: it can signal weaker demand, lower predictable revenue, higher costs to replace lost business, and risks to future growth and cash flow forecasts.
homebuilding return on inventory (ROI) financial
"Homebuilding ROI is calculated as homebuilding pre-tax income"
sales order backlog financial
"SALES ORDER BACKLOG"
Sales order backlog is the total value of confirmed customer orders a company has received but not yet fulfilled or shipped, like a queue of tasks waiting to be completed. It matters to investors because a growing backlog signals future revenue and demand, while a shrinking or aging backlog can indicate weakening sales or delivery delays; however, it can also mask risks such as cancellations, pricing pressure, or production bottlenecks.

David Auld, Executive Chairman, said:
"The D.R. Horton team completed our 25th consecutive year as America's largest builder by volume, and we are proud to have provided homeownership to more than 84,000 individuals and families during fiscal 2026, including approximately 43,500 first-time homebuyers. Consolidated pre-tax income for the year totaled $3.9 billion on $33.0 billion of revenues, resulting in a pre-tax profit margin of 11.8%. We generated $3.5 billion of cash from operations in fiscal 2026 and returned $4.1 billion to shareholders through repurchases and dividends while maintaining a strong financial position.

"Housing market conditions became more challenging during the fourth quarter as rising mortgage rates, affordability constraints and cautious consumer sentiment continued to pressure new home demand. Our experienced operators responded with discipline by adjusting incentives, pricing and starts on a community-by-community basis to align our inventory levels with current demand. We expect incentives to remain elevated in fiscal 2027, the extent of which will depend on market conditions throughout the year.

"Our strong liquidity, low leverage, local market expertise and national scale provide us with significant financial and operational flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and deliver attractive shareholder returns. Over the past 5 years, we have made significant investments in our housing platform as we entered 30 new markets and 7 new states and increased our community count by 65%. Over that same period, book value per share grew at a 15% compound annual rate, while we generated $14.0 billion of operating cash flow and returned all of it to shareholders through repurchases and dividends, reflecting our consistent execution, operational efficiency and disciplined, balanced capital allocation.

"Based on our solid financial position and cash flow, our Board recently increased our quarterly cash dividend by 11% to $0.50 per share, making fiscal 2027 our thirteenth consecutive year of dividend growth. We will continue to focus on delivering value to our homebuyers, gaining market share and generating compelling returns for our shareholders over the long term."
