Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Evaxion A/S (EVAX) reported that all patients at three-year follow-up in its Phase 2 trial of personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01 for advanced melanoma maintained clinical responses observed at two years, with no tumor progression observed. Patients received EVX-01 alone in the third year, after receiving it with KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) during the first two years.

The earlier two-year results included a 75% Objective Response Rate, with 25% of patients obtaining a complete response. At two years, 92% of patients were still responding, with no relapses observed; tumor reduction was seen in 15 of 16 enrolled patients, and 86% of vaccine neoantigens generated potent specific T-cell responses.

Filing Explained

Evaxion reports that six of the 12 responders continued into the trial’s one-year extension, specifying the responder subset that entered this extended phase.

Follow-up 3 years EVX-01 Phase 2 trial in advanced melanoma
Objective Response Rate 75% Two-year trial data
Patients obtaining a complete response 25% Two-year trial data
Patients still responding 92% Two-year follow-up
Patients with a deepened response 54% Following initiation of EVX-01 treatment
Patients with tumor reduction 15 of 16 patients Target lesions in the trial
Vaccine neoantigens generating potent specific T-cell responses 86% Measured at two-year follow-up
Responders continuing in the one-year extension 6 of 12 responders Trial extension
Objective Response Rate medical
"a 75% Objective Response Rate"
The objective response rate (ORR) is the percentage of patients in a clinical trial whose tumors measurably shrink or disappear according to preset rules. Investors use it as a quick, objective signal of a drug’s ability to produce a clear treatment effect—like counting how many plants visibly respond after applying a new fertilizer—and higher ORR can improve odds of regulatory approval, commercial success, and company valuation.
complete response medical
"25% of patients obtaining a complete response"
A complete response is a positive outcome in which a company’s efforts to address issues or questions fully resolve the problem, often meaning that no further action or investigation is needed. For investors, it signals that concerns have been thoroughly addressed, which can boost confidence in the company's stability or decision-making. Think of it like a doctor fully treating an illness, leaving no remaining symptoms.
neoantigens medical
"86% of the vaccine neoantigens generating potent specific T-cell responses"
Neoantigens are new protein fragments that appear on the surface of diseased cells, most often cancer cells, because of changes in their DNA; the immune system can recognize these as foreign. For investors, neoantigens matter because they are targets for precision therapies and vaccines that aim to teach the immune system to attack only diseased cells—think of them as unique fingerprints that enable treatments to be more specific and potentially more effective, which can drive clinical and commercial value.
T-cell responses medical
"potent specific T-cell responses"
T-cell responses are the actions of a type of immune cell (T cells) that identify and destroy infected or abnormal cells and coordinate the wider immune reaction. For investors, stronger or longer-lasting T-cell responses after a vaccine or therapy suggest better protection or treatment durability, which can affect clinical success, regulatory approval and market value — think of T cells as security guards that patrol and remove threats, not just a lock that blocks them.
anti-PD-1 therapy medical
"in combination with MSD’s anti-PD-1 therapy"
Anti-PD-1 therapy are drugs that block the PD-1 protein on immune cells, effectively releasing the “brakes” that can prevent the body from attacking cancer cells; think of it like removing a safety lock so security guards can better recognize intruders. Investors care because these therapies can transform treatment outcomes, drive significant sales if approved for multiple cancers, and carry regulatory, patent and competitive risks that affect a company’s valuation.

Evaxion reports sustained clinical responses for all patients at three-year follow-up in phase 2 trial with personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01

  • Three-year data from the EVX-01 phase 2 trial in patients with advanced melanoma to be presented at the ESMO 2026 Congress
  • Data supplements unprecedented two-year data from the trial including a 75% Objective Response Rate with 25% of patients obtaining a complete response
  • This new clinical and new immune data will be presented at a poster session on October 24, 2026, followed by a webinar on October 29, 2026, providing further insights into the findings

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, October 19, 2026 - Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX) (“Evaxion”), a clinical-stage TechBio company developing novel immunotherapies with its pioneering AI-Immunology™ platform, announces new three-year clinical outcome data for personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01 in patients with advanced melanoma.

All patients at three-year follow-up in the phase 2 trial maintained the clinical responses observed at two-year follow-up, with no tumor progression observed. In the third year of treatment, patients received EVX-01 as stand-alone therapy. The data, coupled with new immune data, will be presented in a poster session at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026 to be held in Madrid, Spain, from October 23-27, 2026.

The new findings supplement the unprecedented two-year data presented at ESMO in 2025, showing a 75% Objective Response Rate with 25% of patients obtaining a complete response.

“We are highly excited by the new data reflecting a long durability of clinical responses in this hard-to-treat patient population. This is another strong confirmation of the clinical potential of personalized cancer vaccines in general, and EVX-01 in particular, which we are looking forward to sharing and discussing at the important ESMO Congress. The new data further adds to EVX-01’s strong data package as a good foundation for potential partnership discussions,” says Birgitte Rønø, CSO and COO of Evaxion.

Building on convincing two-year results
In addition to promising response rates, the two-year data from the trial also showed a durable clinical benefit, with 92% of patients still responding at two years of follow-up and no relapses observed.

54% of patients had a deepened response following initiation of EVX-01 treatment, improving from stable disease or partial response to partial or complete response. Tumor reduction (target lesions) was observed in 15 out of the 16 patients enrolled in the trial.

EVX-01 induced an immune response in all patients, with 86% of the vaccine neoantigens generating potent specific T-cell responses as measured at the two-year follow-up.

About the phase 2 trial
The phase 2 trial investigated EVX-01 in patients with advanced melanoma. Each patient enrolled in the trial received a unique vaccine designed with Evaxion’s unique AI-Immunology™ prediction platform and manufactured based on their individual biology.

In the first two-years, patients received EVX-01 in combination with MSD’s (Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA) anti-PD-1 therapy, KEYTRUDA® (pembrolizumab). KEYTRUDA® is a registered trademark of Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA.

Six out of 12 responders continued in the trial’s one-year extension, where they received EVX-01 as stand-alone therapy.

Webinar on October 29, 2026
Evaxion will host a webinar featuring key opinion leader and trial investigator, Professor Muhammad Adnan Khattak, on October 29, 2026, at 15.30 CET/10.30am EDT.

The webinar can be attended through registration via this link.

In the webinar, Professor Khattak will present the three-year clinical and immune data from the EVX-01 phase 2 trial in patients with advanced melanoma.
