Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

FLNG technical
"conversion into Golar’s fourth FLNG"
A FLNG is a floating facility — basically a factory on a ship — that extracts, processes and cools natural gas at sea so it can be loaded onto tankers and sold as liquefied natural gas. For investors it matters because FLNG projects can unlock remote offshore gas resources without building long pipelines, but they require large upfront spending, carry construction and safety risks, and can strongly influence a company’s future cash flow and profit when production begins.
LNG carrier technical
"acquire the LNG carrier Grace Dahlia"
A LNG carrier is a specialized ship that transports liquefied natural gas (natural gas cooled to a liquid so it takes up far less space) between production sites and buyers. For investors, these vessels are the link between fuel supply and demand — their availability, charter rates, and operational safety influence shipping company revenues, energy prices and how quickly markets can respond to changes in gas demand; think of them as refrigerated trucks for global gas trade.
MKII design technical
"benefits to Golar of a repeat MKII design"
redelivery technical
"With redelivery scheduled for 2029"
Redelivery is the act of delivering an asset, shipment, or contracted item again after an initial delivery did not complete, a contract period ended, or ownership/possession must be returned under agreement. For investors, it matters because repeated deliveries or mandated returns can affect revenue timing, inventory levels, logistics costs and legal obligations—similar to a rented car being returned to its owner at the end of the rental or a package being resent after a failed drop-off.

Golar LNG acquires conversion vessel for 4th FLNG

Golar LNG Limited (NASDAQ: GLNG) (“Golar” or “the Company”) announces today that it has agreed to acquire the LNG carrier Grace Dahlia from NYK Line. The Grace Dahlia was built in 2013 and has been maintained and managed to the highest operational standards by NYK Line.

The vessel is intended to be used for conversion into Golar’s fourth FLNG (“FLNG #4”) ordered on August 12, 2026. Grace Dahlia has an LNG storage capacity of 177,427cbm, providing FLNG #4 with approximately 20% larger storage capacity compared to the 3.5MTPA FLNG Esperanza currently under construction. The larger storage capacity will provide prospective FLNG customers with additional offloading flexibility while retaining the benefits to Golar of a repeat MKII design. The FLNG #4 will be converted alongside FLNG Esperanza at CIMC Raffles’ Yantai shipyard in China. With redelivery scheduled for 2029, FLNG #4 represents the world’s earliest available FLNG capacity.
