Minimum Contracted Revenue financial
"generating approximately $12 million of Minimum Contracted Revenue"
Minimum contracted revenue is the amount of sales a company is legally guaranteed to receive under existing contracts, often coming from minimum purchase commitments, recurring service fees, or guaranteed payments. It matters to investors because it creates a predictable revenue floor that helps assess near-term cash flow reliability, reduce forecast uncertainty, and gauge how much future income depends on retaining or expanding contractual relationships — like a subscription that promises a base monthly payment.
TEU technical
"1,800 TEU ECO container feeder"
TEU stands for twenty-foot equivalent unit, a standard measure of containerized cargo capacity equal to one 20-foot long shipping container. Investors use TEUs to compare the size, throughput and utilization of ships, ports and logistics networks—think of it as counting parking spots for containers—which affects revenue potential, shipping costs and the flow of goods that influence supply chains and company earnings.
fixed hire rate financial
"at a fixed hire rate of $24,750 per day"
non-controlling interest financial
"acquire a non-controlling interest in a containership"
Non-controlling interest represents the portion of ownership in a company held by investors who do not have a controlling stake, meaning they do not have enough voting power to make major decisions. It is similar to owning a minority share of a business partner’s company—while they benefit from profits, they cannot control how the company is run. This matters to investors because it shows how much of the company's value is owned by outside shareholders and affects overall financial reporting.
off-hire days technical
"assuming no unforeseen off-hire days"

Icon Energy Corp. Announces Investment in a Long-Term Chartered Containership

Athens, Greece, October 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Icon Energy Corp. (“Icon” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: ICON), an international shipping company providing worldwide seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes via its fleet of oceangoing vessels, today announced that it has agreed to acquire a non-controlling interest in a containership employed under a long-term contract with a major liner operator.

The Transaction

The vessel is a 1,800 TEU ECO container feeder, built in 2023. The vessel is chartered to a major liner operator, at a fixed hire rate of $24,750 per day through February 2028 at the earliest, generating approximately $12 million of Minimum Contracted Revenue. The vessel will be acquired by a consortium of professional maritime investors led by a reputable containership owner and operator, which will also undertake the vessel’s commercial and technical management.

Icon has agreed to acquire an approximately 2.8% equity interest in the entity formed to own the vessel. The investment is expected to be funded from cash on hand and to close by the end of October 2026, subject to definitive documentation and customary closing conditions.

In connection with this co-investment, Icon will also be entitled to appoint a representative to the board of directors of the entity formed to own the vessel.

In addition, this strategy is expected to expand market intelligence, broaden Icon’s network, and provide access to the expertise, insights and perspectives of other skilled investors and operators.
