How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Adjusted EBITDA financial
"We define Adjusted EBITDA as net income (loss) adjusted for"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
non-GAAP gross margin financial
"We define non-GAAP gross margin as GAAP gross margin adjusted for"
Non-GAAP gross margin is a measure of a company's profitability that shows how much money it makes from sales after subtracting the direct costs of producing its products or services, but without applying certain accounting adjustments required by standard rules. It helps investors understand the company's core earning ability by excluding items like one-time expenses or accounting changes. This metric provides a clearer picture of ongoing business performance beyond official financial reports.
full valuation allowance financial
"due to the full valuation allowance in the United States"
weighted-average number of shares outstanding financial
"divided by the weighted-average number of shares outstanding during the respective period"
The weighted-average number of shares outstanding is the average count of a company’s common shares during a reporting period, adjusted so each share is counted only for the portion of the period it actually existed. It smooths changes from stock issuance, buybacks, conversions or splits so per-share figures (like earnings per share) aren’t distorted. Think of it as a time-weighted headcount of shares that investors use to compare per-share results fairly.
dilutive effect of common stock equivalents financial
"plus the dilutive effect of any common stock equivalents during the period"
Revenue $73.763 million +10.5%
Gross margin 33.1% 31.1% in the prior-year quarter
Adjusted EBITDA $11.050 million +55.4%

nLIGHT, Inc. Announces Third Quarter 2026 Results
Solid Execution and Continued Strength in Defense Drives Quarterly Results

CAMAS, Wash., November 5, 2026 - nLIGHT, Inc. (Nasdaq: LASR), a leading provider of high-power lasers for mission critical directed energy, optical sensing, and advanced manufacturing applications, today reported financial results for the third quarter of 2026.

"Solid execution during the third quarter enabled us to deliver revenue above the high end of our guidance range, record product gross margins and strong Adjusted EBITDA despite ongoing supply constraints,” commented Scott Keeney, nLIGHT’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Demand for our products remains strong and our pipeline of opportunities continues to expand across directed energy, laser sensing and advanced manufacturing. We are making important investments in our manufacturing capacity and supply chain to support this expected growth, and we believe nLIGHT is well positioned as our defense programs increasingly transition from development toward fielding and production.”

Revenues of $73.8 million for the third quarter of 2026 were up 10.5% compared to $66.7 million for the third quarter of 2025. Gross margin was 33.1% for the third quarter of 2026 compared to 31.1% for the third quarter of 2025. GAAP net loss for the third quarter of 2026 was $7.2 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, compared to net loss of $6.9 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2025. Non-GAAP net income for the third quarter of 2026 was $10.2 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, compared to non-GAAP net income of $4.3 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2025. Reconciliations of the non-GAAP metrics presented here to the most directly comparable GAAP metric have been provided in the tables included at the end of this release.

Outlook

For the fourth quarter of 2026, nLIGHT expects revenues to be in the range of $84 million to $90 million. The midpoint of $87 million includes Products revenue of approximately $63 million and Advanced Development revenue of approximately $24 million. Due to ongoing supply chain constraints, nLIGHT’s fourth quarter revenue guidance excludes approximately $15 million of product revenue that nLIGHT would have expected to ship in the fourth quarter but is now expected to be delivered in the first half of 2027.

nLIGHT expects overall gross margin to be in the range of 30% to 36%, with Products gross margin in the range of 40% to 46% and Advanced Development gross margin of approximately 8%. nLIGHT expects Adjusted EBITDA to be in the range of $12 million to $18 million.

We have not reconciled our outlook for Adjusted EBITDA because unrealized and realized foreign exchange gains and losses cannot be reasonably calculated or predicted nor can the probable significance be determined at this time. Accordingly, a reconciliation is not available without unreasonable effort.

Use of Non-GAAP Financial Results

In addition to U.S. GAAP results, this press release contains non-GAAP financial results, including non-GAAP gross margin, Adjusted EBITDA, non-GAAP net income (loss) and non-GAAP net income (loss) per share, basic and diluted. We use Adjusted EBITDA to help us evaluate our business, measure our performance, identify trends affecting our business, formulate business plans and make strategic decisions. In addition to our results determined in accordance with GAAP, we believe Adjusted EBITDA is a meaningful measure of performance as it is commonly utilized by us and the investment community to analyze operating performance in our industry. Similarly, we believe that providing non-GAAP gross margin, non-GAAP net income (loss) and non-GAAP net income (loss) per share, basic and diluted, is useful to our investors as they present an informative supplemental view of our results from period to period by removing the effect of stock-based compensation expense and other non-recurring items. However, the non-GAAP metrics presented herein are specific to us and may not be comparable to similar metrics disclosed by other companies because of differing methods used by other companies in calculating them.

We define Adjusted EBITDA as net income (loss) adjusted for income tax expense (benefit), other non-operating income or expense, interest income or expense, depreciation and amortization, stock-based compensation, acquisition and integration-related costs, and other non-recurring items as determined by management, as applicable. We define non-GAAP gross margin as GAAP gross margin adjusted for stock-based compensation and other non-recurring items as determined by management, as applicable. We define non-GAAP net income (loss) as GAAP net income (loss) adjusted for stock-based compensation, amortization of purchased intangibles, acquisition and integration-related costs, and other non-recurring items as determined by management, as applicable. We define non-GAAP net income (loss) per share, basic and diluted, as non-GAAP net income (loss) divided by the weighted-average number of shares outstanding during the respective period plus the dilutive effect of any common stock equivalents during the period in the case of non-GAAP net income (loss) per share, diluted.

Tables presenting the reconciliation of net loss to Adjusted EBITDA, as well as the reconciliation of GAAP to non-GAAP gross margin, GAAP to non-GAAP net income (loss) and GAAP to non-GAAP net income (loss) per share, basic and diluted, are included at the end of this press release.
