Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV announced that a poster on gamgertamig was accepted for the 2026 American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting, presenting preliminary data from two ongoing Phase 1b studies. The studies included 33 patients: 22 with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and 11 with autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). Lakefront said the preliminary data suggest potential to retain remission after B-cell reconstitution without background therapy, consistent with an “immune reset.”

Among response-evaluable patients, 18 of 20 with ITP (90%) responded; in AIHA, 6 of 6 patients in the mid-dose cohort and 3 of 3 in the high-dose cohort responded. At most recent follow-up, 15 of 18 ITP responders (83%) and 8 of 9 AIHA responders (89%) had ongoing responses. Median follow-up was 141 days for ITP and 85 days for AIHA. Grade 1 cytokine release syndrome occurred in 6 of 33 patients; no Grade ≥2 events were observed, and no ICANS or other neurotoxicity was reported. Infections occurred in 10 of 33 patients, most Grade 1 or 2 and all managed successfully. The poster session is December 13, 2026; registrational studies are expected in 2027.

Filing Explained

This Form 6-K furnishes the November 4 press release and incorporates it by reference into Lakefront’s listed Form S-8 registration statements, making the release part of those registration filings.

Patients treated 33 patients Gamgertamig across two ongoing studies

Grade 1 cytokine release syndrome 6 of 33 patients Across the reported patient group
Infections 10 of 33 patients Most infections were Grade 1 or 2
BCMAxCD3 T-cell engager technical
"a BCMAxCD3 T-cell engager"
immune reset medical
"consistent with an “immune reset”"
cytokine release syndrome (CRS) medical
"Grade 1 cytokine release syndrome (CRS)"
An excessive immune reaction in which the body’s defense system releases large amounts of inflammatory signals (cytokines) all at once, like an overactive alarm system that triggers too many responders and causes collateral damage. It matters to investors because this side effect can halt clinical trials, prompt safety warnings or recalls, and increase development costs and regulatory scrutiny for drugs or therapies, affecting a company’s valuation and future revenue prospects.
immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) medical
"immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS)"
Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) is a range of brain-related side effects that can occur after treatments that boost or use immune cells (for example some engineered cell therapies). Symptoms can include confusion, trouble speaking, seizures, or decreased consciousness, and severity affects patient safety, treatment guidelines, and regulatory review. Investors care because ICANS can influence a therapy’s approval, labeling, hospital monitoring needs, and overall adoption—similar to how a car recall affects a vehicle’s marketability and ongoing costs.
Orphan Drug Designation regulatory
"granted Orphan Drug Designation"
Orphan drug designation is a special status given to medicines developed to treat rare diseases affecting only a small number of people. This status often provides benefits like faster approval processes and financial incentives, making it more attractive for companies to develop these drugs. For investors, it signals potential for exclusive market rights and reduced competition, which can impact the drug’s profitability.

FAQ

What response rates did LKFT report for gamgertamig?

Preliminary results reported an ITP response in 18 of 20 response-evaluable patients (90%). In AIHA, all response-evaluable patients in the mid- and high-dose cohorts responded: 6 of 6 and 3 of 3, respectively. ITP response required a platelet count of at least 30 × 10^9/L and at least double baseline; AIHA response required a hemoglobin increase of at least 2 g/dL.

How many LKFT gamgertamig responses were ongoing at follow-up?

At the most recent follow-up, 15 of 18 ITP responders (83%) and 8 of 9 AIHA responders (89%) had ongoing responses. Median follow-up was 141 days among response-evaluable ITP patients and 85 days among response-evaluable AIHA patients.

What safety events were reported in LKFT’s gamgertamig studies?

Grade 1 cytokine release syndrome occurred in 6 of 33 patients, with no Grade ≥2 cytokine release syndrome events observed. No cases of ICANS or other neurotoxicity were observed. Infections occurred in 10 of 33 patients; most were Grade 1 or 2, and all were managed successfully.

When is LKFT presenting gamgertamig data at ASH?

The poster session is scheduled for December 13, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the 2026 American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The poster is titled “Initial global clinical experience with gamgertamig (CM336/OM336)” in two ongoing studies.

Lakefront Biotherapeutics Announces Poster Presentation at the 2026 American Society of Hematology Meeting

Gamgertamig data from ongoing Phase 1b studies suggest potential to retain remission after B cell reconstitution, maintained in the absence of background therapy for autoimmune cytopenias, consistent with an “immune reset”

Lakefront to host investor conference call on Monday, December 14 at 8 AM ET

Mechelen, Belgium; November 4, 2026, 15.01 CET – Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV (Euronext & NASDAQ: LKFT) today announced the acceptance of a poster presentation at the 2026 American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting taking place on December 12-15 in New Orleans, LA.

“Prior to acquiring Ouro together with Gilead, we recognized gamgertamig’s potential to change clinical practice for patients with chronic and refractory autoimmune cytopenias, based primarily on results from investigator-sponsored trials. It is exciting to explore the predictability of robust responses, and the potential for immune reset-type activity, in results from company-sponsored trials sponsored by both Lakefront and our China-based partner, Keymed,” said Eric Hedrick, Chief Medical Officer of Lakefront. “We are looking forward to sharing updated data at ASH.”

About Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a rare, autoantibody-driven disease that results in the premature destruction of platelets, causing thrombocytopenia and an increased risk of bruising and bleeding. ITP affects approximately 120,000 people in the U.S. Beyond bleeding risk, people with chronic ITP often experience significant fatigue and reduced quality of life, along with side effects associated with long-term corticosteroid or immunosuppressive therapy. Despite currently available treatments, significant unmet need remains for therapies that provide safe and durable responses.

About Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA)
Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a serious hematologic disease characterized by the production of autoantibodies that target and destroy red blood cells. AIHA affects an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people in the U.S. Warm AIHA (wAIHA) is the most common form of AIHA, accounting for approximately 80% of cases, while cold agglutinin disease (CAD) is less prevalent. Common symptoms include fatigue, anemia, jaundice, splenomegaly, and, in severe cases, thromboembolism and cardiovascular complications. Despite recent advances in treatment, substantial unmet need remains for additional therapies that provide durable responses and improved long-term disease control.

About Gamgertamig
Gamgertamig is an investigational BCMAxCD3 bispecific T cell engager for the treatment of autoantibody-driven immune-mediated disease. Gamgertamig has been granted Orphan Drug Designation and Fast Track Designation by the U.S. FDA for certain autoimmune diseases. Gamgertamig is expected to enter registrational studies in 2027. Gamgertamig is in-licensed from Keymed Biosciences, which owns the rights to develop the program in Greater China.
