Rhea-AI Filing Summary

LG Display Co., Ltd. (LPL) reported unaudited consolidated revenue of KRW 6,277 billion for the three months ended September 30, 2026, up 12% from the prior quarter and down 10% from a year earlier. Operating profit was KRW 250.6 billion, compared with an operating loss of KRW 107.7 billion in Q2 2026 and operating profit of KRW 431 billion in Q3 2025. Net profit was KRW 755.6 billion, versus a KRW 419 billion net loss in Q2 and KRW 1.3 billion net profit a year earlier. EBITDA was KRW 1,214 billion, and the EBITDA margin was 19.3%.

Higher shipments of large-sized and mobile OLED products during the peak season drove quarter-on-quarter revenue growth. Year-over-year revenue declined, reflecting lower mid-sized LCD shipments as part of the company’s profitability-focused product portfolio strategy. LG Display attributed the quarter-on-quarter operating-profit improvement to a higher proportion of high value-added OLED products and operational efficiency, despite exchange-rate and semiconductor-cost pressures. The company said it will continue advancing its OLED-centered portfolio and technology-driven cost innovation.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

EBITDA financial
"EBITDA in the third quarter of 2026 was KRW 1,214 billion"
EBITDA stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. It measures a company's profitability by focusing on the money it makes from its core operations, ignoring expenses like taxes and accounting adjustments. Investors use EBITDA to compare how well different companies are performing financially, as it provides a clearer picture of operational success without the influence of financial structure or accounting choices.
EBITDA margin financial
"representing an EBITDA margin of 19.3%"
EBITDA margin is the share of each dollar of sales that a company keeps as operating cash profit before interest, taxes, and accounting for equipment wear and long-term investments. Think of it like the cash a store has left from every sale after paying day-to-day running costs but before paying rent, loan interest or replacing old machinery. Investors use it to compare core profitability and operational efficiency across companies by removing financing and accounting differences.

LG Display recorded KRW 6.28 trillion in revenues and KRW 250.6 billion in operating profit in the third quarter of 2026.

Revenues increased by 12% quarter-on-quarter, driven by higher shipments of large-sized and mobile OLED products during the peak season. Revenues decreased by 10% year-on-year, reflecting lower shipments of mid-sized LCD products as part of the company's profitability-focused product portfolio strategy.

Operating profit improved quarter-on-quarter despite external factors such as a decline in the KRW/USD exchange rate and rising semiconductor costs, driven by continued efforts to increase the proportion of high value-added OLED products and enhance operational efficiency.

Net profit improved by more than KRW 1 trillion to KRW 755.6 billion, partly due to improved financial gains and losses resulting from exchange-rate fluctuations. EBITDA reached KRW 1,214 billion, representing an EBITDA margin of 19.3%.

LG Display will continue advancing its OLED-centered business portfolio while further strengthening its stable and sustainable profit structure through differentiated technology leadership and technology-driven cost innovation.

In its small- and mid-sized business, the company will strengthen the competitiveness of high-end products by leveraging its differentiated technology leadership and stable development and production capabilities. In the

Regarding OLED monitor panels, it will expand its market presence by strengthening its Gaming OLED product lineup featuring proprietary technologies.

Meanwhile, LG Display is focusing on developing best-in-class technologies that competitors cannot easily replicate to secure future growth drivers. The company continues to pursue technology innovation, including its recent development of FLiPP, a next-generation OLED patterning technology. Going forward, it will further enhance its technological competitiveness through proprietary technologies and accumulated expertise, with a focus on translating these advances into tangible business results.

“Despite continued uncertainty in the external business environment, including exchange-rate and component-price fluctuations, we focused on strengthening our business competitiveness and improving operational efficiency in the third quarter,” said Sung-hyun Kim, CFO of LG Display. “We will continue to secure differentiated technological advantages and advance cost innovation to enhance our ability to respond to changes in the external environment and further strengthen our foundation for stable profitability.”
